General Information:

"Project Drachen Spire," is a community-generated identifier for the Intamin-made, multi-launch, shuttle giga coaster that was originally slated to open at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2021. The attraction is planned to utilize the currently-vacant land behind Verbolten, Festhaus Park—the former home of Drachen Fire.

The coaster's main layout—as leaked before the addition was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic—featured two launches, two spikes (one spiral, one vertical-ish), and a couple of banked turns. Drachen Spire was designed to run two trains by means of a pair of switch tracks connecting the primary, shuttle portion of the layout to the station platform.

Invadr looked underwhelming to some but it still turned out to be a great family coaster. People complained a lot about Finnegan's Flyer but now it's turned to be one of the best flats in the park.

I will vouch that I was one of those with Invadr. I’ve been trying to be better at “wait and see” because you never can tell.

I think it’s insane to think that by 2021 we could have 10 total roller coasters in the park!!! In reality though would they create back to back massive roller coasters??

Just want to point out something. The balloon test for Madrid was in 2017 and we are looking at a 2020 opening. Following that same development path if this is a similar to larger sized coaster then that test was likely for a 2022 project.

This has been talked about before but BGT is building coasters in back to back years and next year will make 3 consecutive years for SWC. Plus with SEAS committing $150 million on attractions, shows and events every year it's likely that there will be more parks getting coasters in back to back years.

If you remember though Madrid was initially supposed to be in 2019 and then became 2020 for unconfirmed reasons. I think the process is more typically that they apply for the height waiver 2 years out.

So, complete speculation... But let's assume this height waiver gets pushed to 2022.

So, 2021. SPW and doing something with newKastle darKastle?

What? ? That building isn't getting touched for years. They can't even take out Drachen Fire's station.

Hey, so what are the extents of bgw’s property. I know how much land they own but where’s the cut off?

See this thread.

So much room. The park currently only uses approximately 50% of it's total land. Like Gavin said they could build multiple coasters or countries or even another park the same size as BGW. The there's no room for a Giga argument just doesn't hold up. There's honestly probably room for Giga just on that side of the park if they didn't want to cross the water.

you have to consider the golf course is right next door there and there is a residential area to the south, so the space they have right there might not be best suited for a giga. I know I probably am in the minority but I think that a traditional giga would best fit on the west and northern boundaries of the park.

That residential area is closer to Alpengeist and Invadr than it would be to a Giga. Honestly BGW really isn't all the concerned with it coming close to the golf course. And if they did there is a lot of room to build to leave a lot of space. Which I know has been discussed in this thread before.

There really isn't a lot of room in the area you are proposing. It fits much better in the festhaus park area than somewhere else.

you can literally copy and paste 325 in that area. Both other rides are very low on that side of the park and invadr even has a sound tunnel. I'm not saying that there wont be a giga in the back area, I just think it's unlikely.

You say that they don't care about building out that way, and yet there is nothing to show that they want to. None of the height waivers have had anything even close to the golf course.
