Those massive things you see that look like seats are actually arm rests. If you look closely, you can see the actual seat in the second row. I thought the arm rests were the seats aswell.

Okay, I see it now. Although I must admit I was excited for a minute about the potential for leg mobility. (In retrospect I realize that would have only been fun until someone got kicked in the shins.)

So it looks like it won't be open for sneak peek or opening weekend? Was hoping to go in March while it's still not hot out and since they hadn't mentioned an opening date yet I was hoping it would coincide!

It's simply too early to know.

If BfE is the reason for an upcoming visit, don't make any plans that can't be changed just yet.

Oh it's definitely not, I really just want some cool weather time in the park and I miss the coasters, but BfE was a major hopeful bonus. Alas. We shall see.

Personally I have never been overly confident about how well the glasses were cleaned. (or if) I know they have the cleaning stations, but did they always get used?

I'd imagine it would cost the park way less to ensure they were cleaned after each use than to risk any liability issues if just one guest caused an outbreak from a weird rash or something. Am I mostly trying to reassure myself here? Absolutely.

Friend sent me something really cool. BFE very well might be open for opening day. There’s going to be a media shoot on March 16th, which involves RIDING THE RIDE. Media shoots usually occur a couple weeks before opening, so this could mean an opening day/ earlier spring opening. Super stoked.

The design of the headsets means that they should be cleaned in the same manner, and to the same extent, as the 3D glasses that the park has used in past attractions.

What the...? I admit I know pretty much nothing about VR, but is that gigantic headpiece really necessary? I was expecting something more the size of goggles, but that thing looks very stifling and claustrophobic. The first thing I thought was that it appears to fit like a gas mask. Hoping I'm wrong about all of this.

The size is required. Zachary confirmed that the video is going to be processed real-time in 4k at 90 FPS. The stats are to try to keep motion sickness to a minimum. All that processing in addition to motion tracking hasn't been compressed yet. In fact the model they're using is one of only two commercially available high end headsets, so the tech is still pretty new.

That being said, they said previously that VR isn't required.
