There's going to be a VR and "standard version" which I will assume is the second theater that still has a screen.
Both theaters still retain their screens. A set version of the film will play in the style of a normal motion simulator for those who may not be able to handle VR or would prefer not using it.

What the...? I admit I know pretty much nothing about VR, but is that gigantic headpiece really necessary? I was expecting something more the size of goggles, but that thing looks very stifling and claustrophobic. The first thing I thought was that it appears to fit like a gas mask. Hoping I'm wrong about all of this.

The size is required. Zachary confirmed that the video is going to be processed real-time in 4k at 90 FPS. The stats are to try to keep motion sickness to a minimum. All that processing in addition to motion tracking hasn't been compressed yet. In fact the model they're using is one of only two commercially available high end headsets, so the tech is still pretty new.

That being said, they said previously that VR isn't required.

I think the other part of the size: it comes down to that’s what it took to make it comfortable and stable while the platform moved. This is definitely a form follows function moment.

Having worn plenty of cheap and expensive VR headsets, I can assure you that the more support across the head, the more comfortable it is to wear. There's nothing more uncomfortable than a huge piece of tech being smashed against your face with nothing but a strap or two holding it around your head. The additional support afforded by the headpiece should make the headsets feel significantly less heavy on the face.

13News Now is scheduled to have a sneak peek at "Battle for Eire" tonight at 4:30 and 5:30 PM.

Here's the link to the story on the 13News Now website for anyone who wants to watch it. It's only 1:24 long.

The Instagram pictures were awesome plus it's interesting that the theater will allow the VR version and the "regular screen" versions at the same time. Pretty smart! :D

The park has a lot of passion and optimism for Battle for Eire and it shows.

It really digs into her face... and that piece right by her mouth seems very unhygienic.
