RE: Project 2017

Thanks for the info about this posted recently and today! Glad to see BGW get something new. Wildcat at Hersheypark was incredible for many years and now it's a killer in other ways. Hope they maintain this better than other GCI coasters. Names are eh... Invadr reminds me of Valravn with the whole leaving out letters theme. Eagerly awaiting a POV!!

RE: Project 2017

I think that BGW is more concerned with geography than anything else. We hav everything from Greek/Roman gods to Porshe. I will concede that new France was not very french when the vikings would have been in the area though.

RE: Project 2017

The names are awful and the whole story seems overly aggressive and more suited for a major thrill ride rather than a family-sized GCI. They would have been better off going for something that targeted that "in-between" demographic rather than the thrillseekers who may well be disappointed given the ride's stature. Sure it can deliver some thrills like White Lightning but that's still family-oriented and orders of magnitude less thrilling than the best wooden coasters. Argh...

RE: Project 2017

Honestly I'm hoping the ride will be like a splayed out White Lightning, only faster(48mph vs. 44.3mph) and with a somewhat bigger drop(74ft vs. 67.2ft), which should be fun!

As far as the Viking theme though, I really think it'd be cool if the queue touches on ancient Viking exploration/colonization. Eventually the trappers unleash a Viking curse, sending the riders through a themed zombie/spirit battle resembling GoT or something...

The names are stupid as F***!  Who the hell came up with them?

And the theme is just dumb!  Vikings, who were known as sea-farers, invade the Quebec wilderness?!?!?! LMAO

Read up. Archeology shows evidence that Vikings settled all the way into the mid-west. Look up the Kensington Ruinstone. I mean, the Minnesota Vikings are called such for a reason.

RE: Project 2017

I'm going to write in Silver Strike on my vote.

... And while we're talking about theming, I've never understood why Canada was in a European theme park. But yay, new ride!

RE: Project 2017

Judging by the votes the name for the ride is most likely going to be INVADR which fits perfectly along all the names of Busch gardens coasters. Many people will complain about the stats of the ride but in all honesty it is a great addition to the park and its collection. Like the video said it will have 9 airtime hills which I can't really complain about. Plus the millennium trains from BGT will provide for a more smooth ride

This project is looking to be very, very interesting. The theming does seem a bit strange, but alright. I'm voting for the name INVADR, seems the most fitting of the 3 choices. Can't wait to see this take shape!
