I really am a fan of the Retro Logo and as much as I wished it would become permanent I never expected it to be. Cedar Fair likes to have all their parks share matching logo's. Knott's Berry Farm being the one notable exception considering its long nationally recognized history.

It's been a season or two since I went to KD, so I can't remember all the areas that still have blacktop, but is this Candy Apple Groce Reno include pavers for all of the area? I can't recall if they already did pavers here.

Well, KD has been replacing sections of the asphalt with brick pavers in CAG for over 10-12 years. So far, the areas nearest the newest attraction have been redone. It started under Paramount when the Drop Tower and Triple Spin [now Bad Apple] were installed [center section: North to South]. On the West end of Candy Apple Grove, Cedar Fair redid a portion of the area near Windseeker when that ride was installed. Then, on the East side of CAG when the singing mushrooms were added. Now, with Delirium, some of the pathways have new pavers near the center walkway and the area in front of the ride now has had the old brick pavers replaced with new.

At this time, there is/were pathway sections between the Americana Ferris Wheel/Carousel area and the Wave Swinger/east games building consisting of asphalt. Whether or not KD went ahead and finished the rest of the main CAG midway remains to be seen.

Given how much has been redone to date in CAG, it would look better if the park went ahead and at least finished the main center midway in all brick pavers. If not, then we will have another season of patchwork pathways there.

For some reason, I would not expect the area around the Grove stage to have been redone in pavers. I keep having thoughts that KD is going to do something with that area in the next 2-3 years.

pavers are so much more expensive then concrete and they look bad over time. Frankly when individual pavers sink or pop up, they become trip hazards. I really do not understand why the park uses them.

I completely agree with you Zimmy. That being said, for some reason Cedar Fair has chosen the paver route. I just want them to finish th job they already started. Anything is better than blacktop asphalt.

I saw Delerium testing. Still no spinning of the dial.

Edit: It looks like they're slowly increasing the height it's going each time they test it.

Based what I've been able to observe, it looks like they're doing testing where they don't stop the ride like normal, more like turning off the power and letting gravity slow/stop it. I'm guessing some sort of testing, but interesting still.

Yeah I noticed that as well. It is definitely pretty interesting for sure. I can only assume it is in case the ride actually does lose power with riders strapped in. They want to see how the ride reacts.

Almost reached the full swing with spinning. I hope the ride is open when I head up there for pass member day.
