RE: Project 2014/2015?

Keep in mind that Concerts *used to* be upcharge and are now offered free. I don't think they would take a step back, it would be redundant and would be like stealing something away from the pass holders.

Also the F&WF is free, you still have to pay for food, I mean they don't expect you to get just one sample, they expect you to get repeated samples and all that food adds up.

And finally, Christmas Town is still just an admission ticket. The only thing is the admission price goes down ridiculously low compared to the regular season and it is something that was nevered a part of th pass.

My view is plain and simple, they won't charge extra for something people already get for free. One ride you have to pay for in the entire park? Oh I will just avoid it and ride everything else. That is exactly how I think the GP will view it.

I'm pretty sure I *am* the General Public, and I would personally prefer to pay for an interesting experience, to include a cool ride, than another t-shirt or stuffed animal.

But I really didn't mean to get myself into a debate like this. I make no claims about knowing what BGW plans to do.

I consider anyone who happens upon this site and does not have "NEW" tattooed next to their username excluded from the GP. I consider the GP to be anyone who does not get involved with fansites and has no clue as to what is going on unless officially posted by the park.

With that said, who cares if you start a debate or stir up conversation, we can use it and after all that is what the forums are for :p No one here is making claims that they know what BGW plans to do, especially in the "rumors" forum :D

RE: Project 2014/2015?

Thanks!

Seriously though, I don't live very close to BGW anymore, although I did grow up in Virginia Beach. In fact, I probably make as much use of my annual passes in Florida as I do in Williamsburg. So, although I have been going to BGW since the 1970s (ack), I really do think I am more GP than all y'all who are in the park all of the time.

Highly unlikely, but I think it would be neat to have a wooden roller coaster back there. And have the station inside the building

I, no offense to whoever thought up the idea of a coaster back there, don't like the idea of building a coaster back there. I was FURIOUS at Hershey park for building SkyRush over that beautiful lake that is there. I think it would be worse to ruin the serenity of those woods and the little "lake" under the Killarney Bridge.
I think they should move the catapult to the EitA building. :) (For all of you who don't know, I REALLY want the catapult inside a building. :))

When I was...um...much younger than I am now, the catapult inside the building in Hastings was my favorite ride in the park. I loved that everything was dark. I also seem to recall flashing lights lite creatures in distance? I pretty much stopped riding it, when they moved it. I'm not sure that I would still enjoy it as much, but I agree, that ride needs to be inside.

RE: Project 2014/2015?

I'm just spitballing here, but what if the park is considering the eurofighter behind EiTA? Either that, or an enclosed flat ride. When I think of line-of-sight test, I think some sort of coaster. An generally speaking, a eurofighter's lift tower isnt too high either. I think it would be an interesting addition, especially if it was kept hidden behind the trees!

RE: Project 2014/2015?

^I just watched a video of a EuroFighter for the first time, and I think it would be cool to have a ride like that. They are short (height), can be short (length), and can be compact. It would be cool for the park to get one...in Italy, not in Ireland; lake, serenity, stuff from earlier post. :)

I agree! However, where could one go in Italy without destroying the trees behind Davinchi's garden/Pompeii? Does anyone have ideas on location, names, etc.? Plus, I think Ireland could use a good attraction back there. And with the building of EiTA, the theming could be fantastic! We could have an Irish Mine or something. (Something like an Irish version of Mystery Mine at Dollywood.)

I've given far more thought to that idea than any regular old park guest should. I would love to see a RMC style faux-woodie with a station exit and lift behind Ireland, a first drop plunging under the Ireland bridge in the direction of the train trestle, a couple of hops and maneuvers on that hillside above the trestle, and then a returning high speed dive beneath the bridge in the opposite direction... followed by a long, rapid fire, low-down series of hops and kicks Boulder Dash style up the ravine behind England, under the England parking lot bridge, and up to the top of that forested stretch between England parking lot and the ticket plaza.

There is a good bit of forested land up there; I would expect to have room for a ground hugging shenanigan or two on that high ground while still maintaining a healthy wooded buffer between it and the nearby lot and plaza areas. Then bang a tight 180 and hop/shuck/jive right back down that ravine in the opposite direction, beneath the England parking lot bridge again, continuing to keep it low and fast with not a single yard of straight track the entire way, ending in a tight climbing return to the station behind Ireland.

But in addition to some other challenges, it would spoil the serenity of that fountain area. There would be no avoiding some degree of deforestation in the ravine/hillside area along the ride's direct path; you'd get even more coaster overload in the vicinity of Loch Ness; and I imagine there would be some question about the ecological impact of building ~80% of the ride directly above the water.

So who knows what's actually happening...

Just a thought maybe something is growing with HOS theme this year with the pirates and terror Tories maybe these little hints all around are just little bits of info to what's coming up for the park

RE: Project 2014/2015?

All I really want is a b&m flyer themed/named Icarus; that's all I want...oh and for them to tear down that trash Mach Tower and replace it with a Falcon's Fury clone. ;)
