I don't know any details yet, but it sounds like there's a height survey going on at the park this morning. Interesting...

Could it just be a wind direction balloon for fireworks this evening?

I doubt it since it would be way to early and they don't typically do that from my knowledge.

Resort anyone?

No, this definitely sounds like a line of sight test.

For those who don't understand, this may help : http://suite101.com/article/sight-line-test-balloons-spotted-over-dineys-polynesian-resort-a407463

RE: Future Park Plans

I will say this,

It is extremely windy today so this could be firework related.

RE: Future Park Plans

This was done first thing in the morning though and, more importantly, it doesn't sound like it was done near the railroad bridge, Festhaus Park, or the boneyard. It sounds like it was conducted somewhere within the park's main loop...

Just throwing this out there,

Could this be a height test for something either for HOS or CT?

That would be very amazing if they built anything for HOS that needed a height test.

Height tests aren't only for buildings...

I've been told by multiple sources now that this morning's line of sight test was conducted somewhere near Da Vinci's Garden of Inventions and Escape from Pompeii. It sounds as though it was likely in the 70ft to 110ft range though that's just a very rough estimate judging by the surrounding structures. Still digging...

RE: Future Park Plans

I was in the park this morning, spent a lot of time in the general Italy/Sesame area, and didn't see anything. Maybe it was done before the park opened.

There's a lot of room back in those woods, and the Festa Italia bridge begins at that path junction which is just dying to get a 4th leg...

RE: Future Park Plans

Another update: I've gotten more eyewitness reports stating that a line of sight test balloon was flown over the Italian-themed section of the park early yesterday morning. It sounds like the test was over and done with around 11am at the latest. Furthermore and perhaps more importantly, I've been told by a few people now that it's not entertainment related. If true, that rules out Howl-O-Scream and Christmas Town prep.

Guys... I think there may be something on the docket for 2014 or 2015 that we don't know about.
