Rode Tempesto twice today. Was on the first ride for guests, riding in the back. (Since a little girl and her dad ran to the front and they had a go-pro) Then rode it a second time in the front. Did not ride a third time in the middle however, so I have no opinion on the middle.
As somebody who almost exclusively rides in the front of coasters due to just general nausea, I will be riding in the back of Tempesto from now on. The back was a thousand times better than the front. The front made me so ill that I felt like I was going to vomit. And the only thing stopping me, was sheer will power to not be the first person to get sick on the ride. The front was absolutely rougher, and going through the first cork screw in the front was just so physically painful for me, as well as going into the loop.
The back was far smoother, and made for a far better ride. Being in the back and going backwards up the second launch was an interesting experience because you can watch the ride cycle as many times as you want, and you don't realize how far back you actually go until you're on the ride.
That being said, I still do have my gripes with the ride.
I still don't like that it exists in the first place. I feel like this is a ride far better suited for KD than BGW.
The themeing for the ride is amazing... for Festa. I'm a sucker for string lights, but the ply wood is just awkward to me. They intentionally painted it to look messy and thrown together. While waiting in the station, you can see the back of the sign on the, I guess it's supposed to be a tent or a shack I'm not entirely sure what the station is supposed to be. But there are paint swatches and like numbers and letters on it. The metal bars have messy paint jobs done. And I personally feel like that's just, really not appealing.
I see what they were trying to do as far as the whole messy thrown together look. But, it's not working for me. (However color choice wise, I love the teal with navy blue fencing, with the red wooden trim. It looks great. Why isn't the track red and teal, or navy and teal. I think it would have looked better than the orange.)
I hate the OTSR. They serve zero purpose. They do not make me feel safer in the ride. They don't even touch my shoulders or chest. Adding them I feel was a complete waste, and I hope they remove them, because all it's doing is adding to the time it takes to get in and out of the ride. And with a ride that only has one train like that, you want people to get on and off as quickly as possible.
It's also super difficult to get in and out of the cars. There is like zero walk way space on the trains in between the lap bar and the chair. Which I feel is a poor design choice, and again adds to the time it takes to load and unload.
Overall, it's a decent ride, that's out of place at the park I feel. I personally will not wait for the ride if its anything longer than 20 minutes. I'm glad I got to ride it twice.
