Is there a plan to open it tomorrow at all? Rushed over after work today and by then riding stopped.
:(
I'd like to know if it will be open tomorrow as well. Planning on going to the park tomorrow but only if Tempesto is open. Does anybody have any info on this?

I'm pretty sure it will be opening at some point tomorrow too.

Line closing early tonight probably has no relation to it opening tomorrow.

Drove 4 hours to ride tempests early only to be turned away right after they stopped letting riders on. Not in the best mood right now...

I got to ride it today. The views are pretty awesome, but the line moves slowly.

Also, many of you are concerned about the hourly capacity, but then you want them to keep your loose articles. Don't you see the correlation there?

Park is giving out orange fanny packs for anyone who has loose articles but doesn't want to get a locker.

Ride is very forceful. Probably one of the most intense rides in the park. Backwards launch is powerful, especially toward the back rows. Lots of air cresting the first tower, lots of hang in the slow roll, and lots more air in the 90° drop. The non inverting loop is also pretty intense since it throws you around.

Theming looks pretty great in person too even if it is pretty minimal.

Good news on the fanny packs. Good on the park for finding a solution so quickly. I knew fanny packs were too practical to stay out of fashion for long.

So there seems to be some precision involved in launching the train with enough force to accomplish the first two stalls. The difference between an empty and a full train's weight could be 4,000 pounds or more. Does the launch force vary depending on load or are the towers tall enough to handle the various load conditions?

I would assume that the towers are designed to support around 1.5 times the forces that they should ever encounter. The stronger you build it the less likely for timely maintenance down the road I would assume.

More intense than Alpengeist or Verbolten (which is a surprisingly intense family coaster)?

More intense than Verbolten for sure. It's a different kind of intense than alpengeist so I can't really compare the two.

I know I am going go upset some people, and I think coasters are a very subjective experience. In fact, it seems that everyone I have talked to has a different opinion of this ride.

All that said...

I thought Tempesto was a nice flat...and a boring coaster.

I rode it in the back and the front, and felt very little difference between the two. I floated slightly more in the front and it was visually more interesting, but the forces seem equally weak to me.

My impression is that it is the least intense coaster in the park.

I will say that the restraints didn't bother me at all, and the ride didn't bump or jar me either. I imagine my height has something to do with that: the "comfort collar" was around my ears, but was nowhere near my head. It could also be a result of how few Gs I felt.

If you go back through this thread, you will see that I never predicted that it would be a bad ride. In fact, I expected to enjoy it. So, my experience today was deeply disappointing. I'm just glad I could walk immediately to Apollo and go on a real thrill ride.

I wasn't saying they're similar. I was simply using Fury as an example of an intense coaster I've been on recently which shows that I have some knowledge of what an intense coaster actually is. My opinion is totally different. The airtime was awesome throughout. The hang time was actually pretty terrifying, and the launches were great too. I can't find a fault with Tempesto other than capacity. BG got some serious bang for their buck. The blood rushed to my head for pretty much the entire ride which was pretty crazy. I can't tell you all how much I enjoy tempesto after seriously doubting it.
