I get what you're saying, but I honestly don't think the employees are under any kind of embargo. I've seen a couple employees post publicly on Facebook about it, aswell as some instagram posts from employees bragging about riding it. Also, do you guys think someone would post "such a thrilling ride" without having been on it? Because every one has been saying it doesn't look thrilling, so the only way someone could accuratley say that it is thrilling is if they have been on it. Tempesto was announced, it isn't some big secret scandal anymore. Also, who said they would be releasing personal information? The only thing we know in about a poster is his username, which doesn't seem that personal to me. In addition, if the park was going for total secrecy about riders, they wouldn't post a video of Carl Lum riding it.

I'll pretty much sum up everything I've heard from social media without directly quoting anybody. It's as smooth as Griffon, the transitions will cause you to be shaken around a little bit, and the restraints have to go down all the way so it can get a little tight during the ride. I haven't heard anything negative about the ride, but then again this was already a highly rated model.

The one thing about Premier Rides is they tend to get a bit rattly over time. Known fact, and I can back it up with experience. Jokers Jink, FOF both weren't the smoothest when I rode them.

I heard back from it just today. I think they only notified the people who have been selected as "potential winners" and I think thats just their way of saying that if you want, sign these papers and send a copy of your drivers license and you can come.

Has anyone heard back from the park about the Tempesto First to Ride Contest for pass members? I haven't...

My notification arrived this morning also. I just noticed it in a "promotions" folder in my email. The event is for Friday night between 6 - 10 PM. I believe 500 people were to be selected. As Fan24UTK said, there is an affadavit/release form to be completed by the winner and their guest. The forms must be notarized, include a photo ID image, and be emailed by Monday. I suspect this will deter some. Perhaps they did send out more than 500 of these.

Well, I guess I'll put my 2 cents in... It's just my opinion, so I don't need to hear everyone's comments if you don't agree with me ;-P

Let me first start off by saying that most parks that build a new coaster, do it as a method of advertising, not only to keep the regulars coming back, but to lure new business as well. Nothing brings in a crowd like a new coaster, .... until now.

Looking at this coaster last weekend, it's not something that's going to bring people in from 100+ miles away. Kids won't be begging Mom & Dad to drive to Williamsburg just to ride Tempesto. I would drive from Richmond to Cedar Point, just to experience the level of coasters they have to offer. Thats the WOW Factor, and the WOW Factor doesn't exist here. Bigger, Faster and more unique coasters has been the trend in the past. This coaster doesn't meet the expectations of most coaster enthusiasts.

The sad fact is this is the hand were dealt, and for now, it's all we can expect. So, as the BG lovers we are, we protect it against the bashers and defend any nah-sayers. We look at the positive points of how great it is to use the space wisely in such a small area, and how smooth the ride will be.

I wouldn't wait in line for it, but I will try it out once I can get on with minimal lines. Who knows when that will be....

I mean to your point Malsdad, yes it isn't a big giant fantastic coaster but it still is and will pull me from over 200 miles away to go to the park. Partially due to I am a season holder and the other part is its something new and a type of coaster I've never ridden.

If I could get off next Friday for the First ride event I would drive the 4 hour drive and spend the entire day up at the park from the time they opened till the event was over.

I think on the point of it not being what everyone was expecting to me its a roller coaster and that type of roller coaster there are already two of in the country but thats it. Two of them. I don't care what kind of coaster it is, when I hear new for a coaster coming to a park it makes me interested. Just my two cents worth

Keep in mind the park really banks off being "The world's most beautiful theme park" more than some new ride. Tempesto will spark interest of some and its just another perk of coming to the park for visitors who come for the atmosphere, which the is the real selling point for BGW.

Yes I'm well aware of that, but why go to the trouble of spending 7 million on a coaster, which is created for the sole purpose of selling more tickets, and then dropping the ball on execution and marketing? Or we could have gotten a..... Wing rider with inverted drop over the Rhine. On can dream. In all seriousness, I think tempesto is going to be a fun coaster, but it is not going to pique the interest of the GP all that much, which is a shame.

I live less than 2 hours from Cedar Point and I am making the drive to BGW and not going to CP this year at all. So the WOW factor doesn't really matter much to everyone. I'd rather drive 9 hours for quality at BGW, than drive 2 hours for a park that offers three great coasters and the rest is just average at best. Tempesto may not be the best new coaster choice, but I am getting excited about riding it. And I'm not worried about waiting in a long line, I've spent many hours in long lines at CP.

Wow. That's the least praise I've seen for Cedar Point... ever. MF, TTD, Maverick, Raptor, Rougarou, and Gatekeeper all look to be excellent coasters.

Anyways, in case you missed it, BGW posted a nice video of Tempesto with more to do with theming than with the actual coaster!
