RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

Hold on, hold on, hold on. Back up. I need to talk about this.

Spain? For real? What sort of stuff are we looking at in a Spain-themed country? I'm not really keen on this idea and would prefer a more Celtic approach to BG. I trust that the park would make it fit and theme it up well enough, but come on... There's just something about Spain that doesn't quite fit.

First, welcome back to the forums, you've been away for awhile.

As far as the rumors regarding Spain, if you think about it, Spain goes from it's border with France all the way down to the Med, so theming a new section for Spain would fit well in the park and there are plenty of culturally important time periods in Spain that the park could choose to base the theme around.

I think for the area of the park the rumors have Spain going (Festhaus Park) it would make sense culturally and geographically for it to be located there. If the park was to go with Greece, it would fit better over by Festa Italia.

But again, these are rumors, Spain just happens to be one that is very popular. We'll have to wait to see what's going on over the next couple seasons.

The noise complaints from Kingsmill are already too much on nights of fireworks and concerts, so to see a wooden coaster....not going to happen.

Not to offend anyone, but its always the rich people who ruin the fun.

Also, Spain is the only major European country left for the park to have.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

How about the Netherlands as a new country?

Windmills!! Yay...lol I don't know, it might be pretty cool.

Flying coaster.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

If we ever got Netherlands, I think it would be a re-themed New France. Same thing with Greece, I could see Festa [my least favorite hamlet] re-themed as Greece.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

Why does everyone hate New France? I love the buildings. I wish they would just tie New France & France together. Eiffel Tower like at KD, anyone? Like a Mini one. Like 250 feet.

I don't really have a problem with New France other than it just doesn't fit. It's not European. There's just no way around this. The food is good, Le Scoot is fun, etc, etc, but it's just sort of odd walking from 19th century Paris into Lumberjack Land. Still though, I love just smelling the air walking through that area.

And yes, I love that idea! An Eiffel tower would be so neat!!! Even if it was just poking over the top of some of the boutiques and such, like if its base weren't accessible. It'd just be nice to see. But then again, and I know this sounds odd, what if it's *too* iconic? Like what if it's a little too "Hey I'm Paris!" and makes people wonder why there isn't a leaning tower in Italia or something. I mean I guess England has a Big Ben, but still...

I don't know. I'm just talking.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

I agree. New France feels out of place. The reason I would want it re-themed to the Netherlands is because it would barely have to change. Change the name on the map and that of a few stores. I don't know that much about the Netherlands, but isn't it Alpine- similar to the current New France?

By the way, I think I might start calling it "Lumberjack Land"...

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

I think you'rethinking of Switzerland or Austria. The Netherlands is a subland full of water and Tulips. I would love to see that, but I think it would take a lot more to change it than you think.

Chris is your info coming from a certain someone's family member that will remain nameless? I had said something when we were all in line for Griffon Sat and he or she about bit their tongue off wanting to say something. I hope everything does play out and we get some new stuff. Don't get me wrong I love the park the way it is, but we need more.

Nope, I didn't hear it from them, they do a good job holding onto company secrets.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

How about Finland? :D

New France has always been a sore spot, walking from France into Canada and on to Germany never sat well with me. I do like the buildings and the atmosphere, and most definitely the food, but it isn't European.

I only ask one favor for the new ride, whatever it is: NO 3D! PLEASE! I would like something that I can ride.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

Ok. I want Lumberjack Land to become some European country that fits the current theme. I'm not partial to one or another.

Kcracken, I agree. I don't want something else that's 3D. We have enough.

What does everyone think of Thirteen at Alton Towers? I wouldn't mind a coaster like that at BGW (assuming it was very well themed).

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

I just was looking at that the other day, very innovative. There are some adjustments that would need to be made though:

1. Must be no less than 175 feet high, even this is small but it seems that Th13teen is from the 1920s in terms of height.

2. It would have to be better themed. Th13teen is themed but certain things like the approach to the H.D.(funny misleading abbreviation) effect look awful.

3. The other thing is if someone else could build it I would feel safer. Th13teen is safe because of size, but I want a manufacturer whose wiki page isn't focused accidents that have happened on their rides.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

Ya, the coaster... When a non-B&M hits the 100 ft. mark, they start to scare me. :p

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

Getting off the subject of replacement, I would like to think of remembrance.
