RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

yeah, towers don't go anywhere or do anything with major movement, roller coasters you are always being flung around something which is more exciting than a tower, but just imagine a a 200+ ft. Elmo drop tower, (Elmo because thats a new kiddy ride for 2009)

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

Not going anywhere is not my problem with drop towers. I don't like the fact that you never know when it's going to let go. That anticipation drives me nuts.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

I hate them because they are ugly, short, and don't do anything for me.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

Oh, well that anticipation is, I believe, supposed to be a sense of insecurity and nervousness that you are supposed to feel to make you scared a little, like Howl-O-Scream mazes. You don't know what is going on and you feel insecure and nervous and you feel scared. But if that's not your cup of tea then thats okay for you.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

I posted this at BGEscape... I figured I would share here as well!

The 250' Height Waiver is crap as of now... I contacted The Planning Commission and they stated that they do not have anything from Busch. She stated even if it was filed this week she would have it.

I'm not going to deny that one will be filed but as of now there is nothing!

If you don't believe me call!

(757) 253-6685 - Planning Commission James City County

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

griffon09 - Are you sure you talked with the right person. I too talked to the Planning Commission and they told me they only have 'CLOSED' files not ones that they are still working on.

What I mean is, they only have files that are just stored after construction and inspections and such. There is another department that handles files that are opened (meaning projects that has not started, or in the middle of construction or what not.)

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

The lady I spoke with said that even if they filed this week she would have it and she doesn't!

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

Well, then there are a couple of reasons 1) I got the information and put it here first and I read that it was being petitioned for, so it may not be filed yet.
2) Files got lost.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

For one I very seriously doubt that something this big would get "lost"... Not to say that it cannot happen but...seriously Think about it...

go here...

http://first.jccegov.com/CaseTrak/search_advance.aspx

Put Busch Gardens in the Subdivision... This shows EVERYTHING that they have filed for and even amended. Once you search.. Sort by Last Action Date and you will see the most recent events.

This is where we need to be looking in the near future! There was something filed for in 2009 for a "Future Park Expansion" but I believe its just for water pipes, drainage, etc...

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

Okay, I understand but like I said before, I heard this rumor and brought it here and what i heard was

"They are petitioning for a 250 ft. building permit."

This means it may not yet be filed or anything and the Planning Commission may not know about it!

Plus I don't know who they are. They could be the park itself, or it could be employees that work for the park that have an idea and want to get the approval to see their idea become a reality.

You also have to look at the 'created' dates too. If it was created years ago, they could just be talking about updates and not newer stuff.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

This is off topic, but I see a need for it right now.
  1. Keep it nice, we don't like flame-wars here. We are just stating opinions. (Don't want to be like KDfansite) :p
  2. Please don't post multiple posts one after the other, just edit the one before it. (Those constant lines don't look very good)

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

I'm sorry, I was trying not to get into a flame-war. Plus I didn't realize the lines look terrible, I thought stripes were in. (Sorry I had to add that last bit in.)

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

It's fine. I just didn't want it to turn into a flame-war. I didn't know strips where in... ;)

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

Well, nothing has been done here in a while, so I thought it would be a good time to throw this out:

Does anyone think that there is a chance that they would wait to open the new coaster/attraction/country/thing for the opening of Christmas Town 2010 to attract more people earlier? Last year, in the first week or two there was barely anyone there, while the last two weeks where so packed full of people that they had to turn people away. This could be used to even out the crowds some and also attract people who would otherwise not of come.

What do you all think? Crazy idea? Possible? Likely?

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

I don't think they'll have the slow start this year that they did last season. People know what to expect now. I'm expecting new stuff for Xmas Town (including Italy), but I'm not sure they would want to debut the replacement project during the offseason. Although it would def. mean they would be turning people away the entire length of Xmas Town.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

I gotta tell ya, I long for a Wooden rollercoaster at BGW. The land there is perfect for a terrain coaster, especially with the Rhine right there. Think a new Beast, maybe not as long though, lol.
I would love for Gravity Group to come in there to see what they could come up with. They also have some new trains that seem awesome. I've heard about the rumors of KM having an issue with the possible noise, so thats a bummer if true, but you never know. There are also ways to deflect or dampen sound, like sound deflecting walls built on highways near housing developments.

I really think a modern, yet classy, terrain woody would be perfect in BGW.
Can you imagine a cool night run through the woods on a woody there? Awesome.
