Zoomy, if you are correct, someone at the park should be very ashamed of themselves right now. Like I said before, I find it hard to believe that Busch is getting a 300ft coaster, but I also find it hard to believe that Busch lied to all of their new employees.

Also, don't forget what I said before, I think that the Mach Tower could of been a test to see how high they can go in that area. Also, is there actually any possibility of the board denying their request? Tourism in James City County is a huge deal and the board knows it. Wouldn't denying a waver from Busch be basically shooting themselves in the foot? Does the board actually care what King's Mill thinks anymore?
When it comes to noise levels, the board doesn't care what the residents think since it's been proven it's not that big of a deal. When it comes to height, they may review it closer since it's in their sight lines.

Also, Zoomy basically summed up why I've been completely doubtful about 300ft even being a possibility with this coaster. Mach Tower's height waiver wasn't approved for two months and then a paint scheme had to receive approval. Anything dealing with the government is slow.

As I've said many times before, it's quite possible that the 300ft. figure was stated by a presenter out of jest.

Overall agreed with. Some of the people I have gotten word from on the height I would find hard to believe do not know what is actually happening. That's all I will say on that matter. Something I will say though is as the years have gone by the trees have of course increased in height thus hiding the park and its contents greater.

It was said in multiple rooms. Also, if it was only said in say, 50% of the rooms, wouldn't we have people coming forward from the other 50% saying that no such things were said? We have more than 5 people coming forward saying that they were told 300+ feed and no one coming forward and saying something different. I'm telling you, someone at the park lied, or there's another height waiver coming.

The park has no reason to be ashamed of themselves at all. I still have yet to hear anyone I know in the park confirm that 300ft was said in multiple orientations. Another thing even if it was said I pretty sure it was misunderstood or sarcasm not understood.

For BGW to use Mach Tower as a test of height would be very stupid on their part. The attractions are separated only by a year. This is too small a window for them to decide they want a coaster after MT got approval. This coaster more than likely has been on the drawing board since 2008 and MT around 2009. So that theory is wrong.

Yes JCC denying a waiver wouldn't be great but BGW also knows its limits when it comes to really pushing the issue. This was the case when Griffon was built. Initially the JCC board wasn't all for that coaster and even though BGW is powerful the JCC board still has the final say on everything.

I worked at BGW for 2 years and I know others who have worked many years with the park or in this industry. They are the people I use to construct these posts. All of that information together paints a clear picture of how a theme park works. Thats how I know what will happen and am able to eliminate crazy and outlandish rumors when they pop up. This isn't an attack on anyone but just an attempt to make people realize we already know what we are getting except for the layout itself.

This is going to sound like a ridiculously cheap argument, but have you heard anyone you know from the park confirm that it wasn't said in multiple orientations? We have at least five people who say that it was said. I know for a fact that at least two of those people were in different orientations. My question is, if it wasn't said in multiple orientations, why isn't anyone coming out and saying that they didn't hear it? No one is. One last thing, as I said before, one of the people asked how the coaster could be 300+ feet when the height wavier was filed for only 95 feet. The answer given by the instructor while Carl Lum was present, was, and I quote, "That is incorrect." If there is an error in my reasoning, tell me where it is. Currently, I don't see one.

Isn't it possible that it could have been the same presenter at multiple times? The park, during January/Feburary has multiple orientations a day, and the presenters work multiple orientations.

To be quite honest, none of us really knows what was said in those rooms besides those who were present.

But even if one presenter did, say, 50% of the orientations, wouldn't we have at least one or two people coming forward and saying that they didn't hear anything about a coaster being taller than 95 feet?

300 foot is an interesting rumor, but like I said, I would not be surprised if bgw was just using their employees to spread a rumor or misinformation. Companies do this all the time and they have every right to. I doubt anyone's feelings will get hurt because they felt they got lied to about a secret project at the employee orientation meeting. I don't agree that they should be ashamed of themselves if it turns out to not be true.

But for all we know, the coaster could be 400 feet high.

Where did you hear that from! The Easter Bunny or the Dippin' Dots Guy?

I'm only joking! trying to lighten the mood.

Exactly. Leaks are made for a reason. In most cases it's to throw people off. There was a discussion back at BGEcape how there were four possible names for Griffon. The others were filler to fuel discussion. Who would disseminate information the fastest? Oh yea, employees. And come on. Think about it. Announcing a 300 foot megacoaster a whole year early to their employees. I mean come on, the park and the industry as a whole is secretive of the height waivers themselves. Just look at it this way, we know a theme, a height, and major features. What don't we know?! When you look at all of the "secrets" and "leaks" all we need is a name and we're done with this coaster. Do you know how stupid that sounds from a marketing point of view? I'm not saying that this isn't happening, but I find it highly unlikely that all of this has been divulged and we're still more than a year and a half out.

Given that the rumor was heard by five possible "theme park junkies" out of thousands of employees, you'll have a much better chance of hearing absolutely nothing about orientations since a vast majority of employees could really care less about new attractions until they're officially announced, and have no desire to seek such information.

Busch has filed for a standard character trademark for Verbolten!

could verbolten be them turning verboten into a coaster name cause verboten is german origin meaning forbidden. almost like theyd be building on forbidden ground of the BBW. verboLten, verboten. makes sense to me plus the german origin

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/verboten

gr8mat - The forbidden idea, is em, BRILLIANT. Someone probably already stated it, but I love that idea. Now of couse tying it into Germany could be hard, but ya never know.

What "news"? There isn't any news out there yet. Take everything you read with a spoonful of salt- nothing is news until it's official.
