Fur, how I understand it is that the phrase you are referencing was only said in one of the rooms. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

So I have it on good authority that the ride isnt gonna be anything like we are hearing... No 300ftness, No stall before the drop, No turntable... Pretty much a cheetah hunt pt 2....

+1. These rumors got out of hand. While having 300ft. and Busch Gardens in the same sentence, would be cool, it just will never happen.

If Youhow's "good authority" is right (check your PMs), then anyone who was part of this ridiculous plan should be ashamed. You don't lie to your own employees.

To be clear: I still don't buy it.

Dude, It may not be true, but that means busch lied to their employees... Tons of them, straight up... That's why the whole "doubt" thing started. The rumor is so outlandish, and it came straight from the mouths of Busch reps... It wasnt a rumor started by fans... BUSCH started the rumor...

Thank you Youhow. I'm glad I'm not the only one who realizes this.

I would prefer a Cheetah Hunt part deux myself.

It appears more and more like we'll be getting that, or something like Seaworld SD's Manta.

Plus, it just goes along with the history of the coaster additions that it would be a coaster similar to Cheetah Hunt. And a 300 ft. drop doesn't really go with the autobahn theme the park floated in the survey.

I am surprised no one has caught onto this...think about the pure physics involved in a vertical launch. How much do you think one of those trains weigh? maybe 5 tons? possibly more? Let's say 5 tons....and you want to VERTICALLY launch it...using LIMs. I'm sorry, but that is borderline physically impossible. Even if Intamin created a LIM that could generate that kind of thrust capability, can you imagine what kind of power source would be needed to achieve just one launch? It would need its own power grid! Otherwise, everytime the coaster launched, half of the peninsula would lose power.

I'm sorry, but a vertical launch I simply cannot accept. I dont care who said what, there is no way they are launching an extremely heavy coaster train, loaded with bodies, straight up 30 stories, with LIMs. I dont even think a hydraulic launch would do it.

And speaking of who said what at an orientation, Busch Gardens would not lie to James City County gov't about the proposed height of a future attraction. The county could revoke future construction permits for the park and tie them up in litigation for years. I can understand a few feet here and there, but there's a huge difference in 80 and 300 feet.

Vertical Launches can be done (Volcano and Mr. Freeze come to mind) but those don't start from a stand-still. You do make a good point though. Anyone know what the fastest LSM launch currently is?

As for the height waiver, that has already been addressed. (See the last couple of pages.)

By the way, welcome to the forums.

Is the one built at Ferrari World LSM or cable launched? For being the "fastest" it looks incredibly boring. About the lying, what exactly was said? Did they say "the new coaster will be this this and this" or did they say "the coaster might be this this and this"? Or some variation to this affect. I have to believe it's like politicians speaking, they do a whole lot of talking but in the end they haven't really said or disclosed anything definitive. Someone said this earlier, but I think they were just fishing for reactions to the idea of a 300 foot coaster.

It won't be a Mack. Several industry sources at IAAPA confirmed that Mack was only building one coaster in N. America in 2012. Manta.

I do have a hidden love for that coaster. :dodgy:

The whole 300 foot drop has me wondering exactly how steep the inclination will be or if it is a total descent of 300ft at 25*-45* angles through twists and what not.

Fastest LSM launch is 104 I believe.... Though much faster lauches are possible. Military uses LSM's for the Rail Gun...
