^ I don't think this ride really counts as a coaster, Washingtonian, but I agree with you. Escape from Pompeii is far above what to expect from a park outside of Orlando/California. I guess I might as well give my input on this thread, now that it has been "re-awoken".
Like I said above, this ride appears like it belongs in a warmer tourist region rather than here. I think it's time to adapt this ride for Virginia. The temperatures are very spotty across the state. That being said, there are newer technologies where they can control water intensity. I love this ride, but I hate to see it sitting there through much of the season; knowing that I won't ride due to temperature.
I have always wanted to see the park renovate the ride via contracting Mack, GMBH. It could be more similar to Journey to Atlantis at SeaWorld Orlando. Another issue this might be able to fix is ride length, since this is an incredibly short ride. My only issue/question is: Would Busch Gardens be able to fit this in given the amount of underground utilities next to the ride? If they could, I would say go for it as long as they can keep the existing show rooms and music. This would be a good dream come true for me.
