The freestyle machines at universal have the water feature disabled on them. I thought I was smart for just going into one of the restaurants and trying to fill my water bottle at the freestyle machine, only to be surprised and disappointed... I'm curious if theirs are as well. Generally I fill my water bottle, at the fountains while buying a pretzle, after riding Verbolten.

At BGW they will fill up anything bottle you bring to the park with water, irregardless of if it is one of their cups or not. And honestly, I'd never use those fountains. Not when I can get water from a snack stand free.

Am I the only person who does not get the freestyle machine craze? Practically everything I've made with one has disappointed me. I love the idea, but have been underwhelmed by the reality. Maybe it's just me though.

I just like the futuristic technology and the option to choose unusual flavors you can't get with other machines.

The freestyle craze was so last year, Busch Gardens is late. I was expecting them to actually have freestyle machines at the Coke market in festa...

Except that picture has the flag of Iceland on it. Not the UK.

Also I'm not big on Freestyle Machines. I always feel the need to drain their water supply on it trying to rinse out the nozzle, so my lemonade doesn't taste like 27 different types of soda. :/

I'm going to have to disagree. The fountain looks beautiful as it already is, with the shrubbery atop the classy architecture. A coaster tree would cheapen the look and feel of the entrance area big-time.

Honestly, aside from HOS, Banbury bores me. I get through the turnstiles and don't really feel excited until I get to the crossroads. I rush past the BGW Paparazzi and only stay in the area for breakfast. I think something new to see there will help those like me. These are my opinions.

The thing is, Banbury Cross was designed to be tranquil, regal, and relaxing: a stroll down a wooden path into a quaint English village. That's how it has been successful for the past forty years- while I welcome something fresh, I fear implementing the park's generic logo will clash with that theme. I don't see how a coaster tree sculpture is "exciting," especially to those who appreciate the classiness and charm of the area.

These are my opinions.

I don't want to sound hopeful, take this with a grain of salt, but the permit also included new concrete footers, so maybe the fountain is safe unless their removing it completely...

Boogie band, dragon and knight mascots and street performers are not tranquil. I would have loved to see Banbury when it was more busy. I prefer to spend my tranquil time at the park later when I need a rest, not right when I get there. "Back in the day", people hung around Banbury because there was stuff to see and do, now people rush through to get to the exciting stuff. I think a 3d version of the coaster tree could look really cool. This is not an attack on your opinions, I am quoting you for reference.

Oh, no worries, I am totally open for discussion. :D

Anyway, I see this from a different point of view. Dragons, knights, and the boogie band are not "tranquil;" you're right. BUT, these all fit the theme of England. Even if they take the London route (whether that's good or not can be discussed elsewhere ;)), I don't see how the coaster tree fits the theme.

Once they started just bombarding you with "would you like to take a picture" from all angles in front of that fountain, that area has lost all of it's tranquility. As soon as I get into the park I hightail it through that area, and slow down once I get to Union Jax. Although, at night time I do agree that it is a nice little area. Think about it though. If they get rid of the fountain, we won't have to endure that frog greeting, and frog's butt farewell.
