Pantheon has been closed all weekend????
Went down Saturday morning, tried to hit it after I rope dropped dark coaster, they had ride ops hanging out on the stairs near the tea cups turning us away with the “maintenance is working on it speech” hit up Apollo a few times didn’t see any equipment or men on the tracks I assume it was a software/electrical error? Came back to Italy after lunch and still down, no ride ops just a sign of being down, around 2-3 the bgw app had been updated with closed for the day.

Ride had a total system issue. They literally couldn’t operate the ride.

Having an interesting discussion with someone about pantheon still advertising as the fastest multi launch coaster in the world.

Is it still up in the air? Like do we consider swing launches as one section of launch therefore making something like TT2 not a multi launch coaster but a swing launch coaster? I know most classifications are BS and are just for advertisement (look at the term hyper coaster, giga coasters, and strata coasters.

Or does any of it even matter because all that matters is ride experience?

In general, most marketing claims never really matter unless it's a major record being broken. But the claim of "fastest multi launch coaster in the world" was sneakily worded from the beginning, as first iteration of this ride type (Soaring with Dragon) was always faster than Pantheon. Pantheon does, however, hold the record for "fastest top speed for a coaster with two fully separate sections of launch tracks" (see: 1) launch into the first inversion, then 2) the whole swing launch section). Doesn't flow off the tongue quite as well.

In a general view though, I would say it's pretty clear that Top Thrill 2 holds the record with its 3 launches (multi) up to 120mph. That is, until Falcon's Flight comes along.

I just find it a fascinating subject. Like multi launch can either refers to how many times it Launches total or the total number of launch track sections.

Like technically it’s the fastest quad-launch coaster but that feels like a lame record lol but if it is going to maintain its “record” it needs to say it only has 2 launches since the swing launch counts as one then.

In the end we know the reason they still say that is because they don’t wanna replace that photo op put where you put your faces in the holes.

Then again my fascination might just be the ‘tism talking!

I don't think anyone should lend any credence to BGW's fake fastest multi-launch record. It has been a lie from the start and it remains a lie today. With a swing launch, riders experience multiple launches. Definitionally, that makes the ride experience—and hence the coaster—a multi-launch coaster.

Oh, and for the record, United Parks agrees that coasters with only a swing launch are multi-launch coasters. Tigris and Ice Breaker have both been advertised as featuring multiple launches.

Gross… to any skyrocket II Being compared to rides like TT2, Pantheon, or Velocicoaster I mean.

They also (correctly) advertised Pantheon as having four launches, which means they clearly count each launch in a swing launch separately.

Pretty sure the term "multiple" means more than one in common parlance. Fastest four launch coaster would be the correct ad for Pantheon.

Technically, the swing launch is six launches. There are seven total launches along stators during a ride on Pantheon along three different launch sections.
Good point. Pantheon’s launch (or, I suppose, launches) actually may be my favorite of any launch coaster for that reason. There’s something so unexpected and fun about the sort of double-kick of launches you get each time you pass through the swing launch. It’s like you speed up, coast for a second, and then bam — you’re speeding up again.

Plus, there’s that little airtime hill in the middle. It feels a surprise pop of airtime smack in the middle of the launch, something I’ve never experienced on another coaster.

Add in the fact that you also traverse this wonky launch section backwards, and I literally laugh out loud every time during this section. Not many coasters accomplish that. I love it.

I swear to god they watch our threads on here.
I think both parks have some higher ups who definitely lurk on here. KD has even referenced Parkfans on at least 1 occasion. Possibly even some of the people who post on here could be.

(Maybe the reason @Zachary has so much insider info is because he himself has been a higher up undercover all these years???!?)
