RE: Minor Changes (2013)

Well no I was referring more to the thread itself, and updating the OP. I was hoping to redo this thread and set it up similar to that of the Discounts & Deals thread. I am going to at least wait until New Years and then start working on cleaning up the OP and rename the thread so that we don't have to make a new one each season.

RE: Minor Changes (2013)

I actually like it the way it is right now. I'd just rather read the most recent posts to see what has changed, than go all the way to the first post and read through everything to get the latest change. It may be more organized, but it won't be more efficient for the rest of us.

RE: Minor Changes (2013)

I changed it so that everything is in order by the date it is pointed out in the thread. Since the list can get long, I just hide them by month, just scroll to the last month and bam it is there. Also each year, the current season will be unhidden automatically, while past season will be hidden so that you know what current season it is.

Matthew, I'm really trying to make it look neat and be more efficient to use for most everybody, I don't know how to do that unless I get feedback. When I did the format previously in October, I was thinking about just sorting things by their department. I wasn't too fond of it because I had to look for the dates. So organizing by dates was just easier, plus like you requested, you can see the latest more easily now.

Please let me know what you like and what you don't and I will try to make things better.

RE: BGW - Minor Changes

If anyone hasn't noticed yet, I added 2014 to the OP and the 2013 months are hidden so you can focus on 2014, but if you want to go back and check out 2013 changes you still can.

EDIT: The main reason, I'm going about it this way is so that we don't need a new thread each season. It just creates threads which end up getting locked or forgot about until the end of time. At least this way we can really use the thread to it full advantage.

RE: Minor Changes

Also another note to add, Apollo's Chariot, Griffon, and Alpengeist will be featuring all new full body harnesses that will be used for disabled guests who have replacement body parts? I am not sure what the proper terminology would be to use here? These harnesses are supposed to limit the restrictions for people who are disabled and allow them ride and more comfortably.

RE: Minor Changes

Actually I wished I had gotten more info on that, all I heard was new full body harnesses for those coasters, I assume they will be like the 'larger guest' seats and will be on one or two rows.

RE: Minor Changes

Sorry for the double post, but I feel for those who have already read the one above, this warrants another notice.

The park will be featuring all new recycling containers this year. Looking at their recycling rate they are actually doing fairly well. Approximately 99% of the waste at the park gets recycled. According to some officials, other parks in chain only recycle in the 60% percent range making them one of the most recycable-friendly parks in the chain.

RE: Minor Changes

On the subject of the harness. The harness will be specific to that guest. You will only see them in use when that rider is on. I'm next to positive that it attaches to the seat in some way, and when it's not in use, it's stored away. So they are allowed to sit in any seat and regular guests won't be disturbed by the harnesses. I will try looking for a picture. This system is fairly common for B&M coasters.

EDIT: Can't find any images...

RE: Minor Changes

Sadly no. This system is an extra harness and the regular harness must still be able to lock in a safe position. So it will be two harnesses for the rider, and with one being removable, the system has to acknowledge that the restraint is far enough down or else the train won't be cleared to dispatch. This harness restricts movement to those with disorders. So it would be quite uncomfortable for those of the bigger size.

RE: Minor Changes

Since Land of the Dragons' changes don't have a news tread (not really "major" changes), I guess they fit well enough here. Feel free to copy and paste.

-Dragons repainted
-Back slides repainted
-Musical instruments relocated
-Treehouse exterior repainted
-Artificial flowers in window boxes added to certain windows of the treehouse
-Leaves added to the tree outside of Land of the Dragons
-Colored banners returned to Land of the Dragons' nets
-Land of the Dragons no longer shares the same soundtrack with Rhinefeld
-Sand pit replaced with a garden
-Tipping buckets added to Brook
-Fenced obstacle containing mechanics removed

And a few others:

-Apollo's Chariot brake runs and final turn around section repainted
-New signage on the Oktoberfest side of the San Marco Bridge
-Pot of gold in the Killarney fountain repainted (I think?)
-Kids ShamROCK! signage placed in store windows
-New advertising sign replaces "Welcome to the World's Most Beautiful Theme Park" sign at the entrance.
-Banbury Crossing sign removed from the shop before the park entrance
-Panning for Gold game outside of Northwest Traders Shop has changed its layout
-Fencing added around Vesuvius Grill
-Bad Boy Mowers sign in the Wild Reserve (I think this was new)

I'll try to come up with some more. Also, any chance of adding the contributors username next to each change? I thought that was a neat thing you used to do.

RE: Minor Changes

Since the Land of the Dragons Celebration is a major thing and the changes there are for the anniversary, I was going to lt those stay there to be talked about in the Land of Dragons thread or the Land of Dragons Anniversary thread.

The Welcome Center is the "shop/info center" just outside the park entrance, I noted it had a new sign. and the Bad Boys sign in Rhinefeld has been there and is not new. But thanks for pointing out that list. i think I'm just going to skip over the Kids ShamROCK you mentioned since new signage should be expected with a new name.
