RE: Minor Changes (2013)

I haven't seen anyone mention the upper waterfalls on the Italy stage were going this past weekend. Haven't seen all the water working there for quite a while. VERY nice to see again. They also replaced the statues with flower vases.
Confirmed. Plus they removed the statues of Poseidon and replaced them with a contraption holding shrubbery. As much as I like seeing the greenery, I prefer the statues.

The fountain looks great but the plant looks small and out of place. The statues fit perfectly. I hope they come back.

The statues really were SO MUCH better!!

RE: Minor Changes (2013)

There used to be drink stand here outside Grogan's Pub. It was missing last night. I guess they removed it to make space for the overflow crowd watching Kilarney Kommotion.:p

While I agree with Zach, the Shrubbery adds more color and adds more variety to the surrounding whereas the statues just blend in and add only a design to be overlooked.

New fingerprint scanners at the turnstiles! I asked about them and was told they are more accurate.

As far as accuracy goes, I was told the old scanners had a 50% chance someone would get caught using your pass, the new scanners have a 90% chance someone will get caught using your pass.

RE: Minor Changes (2013)

I don't recall if this has been mentioned yet here or elsewhere, but I was told this weekend that due to the new "green" initiative BGW wasn't using plastic bags in the shops anymore. Paper only. It is more "environmentally friendly." I didn't want to get into a debate about it, so I left it alone. Is this correct? Has anyone had a plastic bag when you bought something this season? I really don't recall. I just happened to need one today so I went in a store and asked.

RE: Minor Changes (2013)

They have replaced all plastic bags with paper ones. That is correct.

This also cuts down on people grabbing plastic bags when it rains or they go on water rides.

SeaWorld vowed to remove all plastic bags from all of their parks when Turtle Trek opened last year. Plastic bags have been a known killer of Turtles and other sea creatures. It is for the benefit of wild life more than the environment.
