I saw employee training myself last tuesday, or what sure did look like it, as there was a busch employee at the controls in a light blue shirt and a bunch of other people pointing to this and that, I took a snap shot but i thought it sucked but here you can see whats going on a bit if you look....

Cerebral

Those look like maintenance and Moser people, not ride ops

Nope, the guy behind the controls was of Asian Decent and had the light blue with white vertical stripe on it. Like I said the pic sucks but i saw it very clearly.
I was at the park Monday and from noon on it was going up spinning to the top and dropping the gondola off the pulley platform at what sure looked like full speed to us, we watched it several times over the day??

RE: Mäch Tower

I was in Oktoberfest for about 3 hours tonight and the were doing a ton of testing on MT. Full speed, with rotation. Everything looked great. Hopefully, we're getting close...

RE: Mäch Tower

If it was testing full speed, and there arent any more problems, maybe we could hope it opens in the next week? :/

RE: Mäch Tower

I was told yesterday by my contact at the park to look for a Labor Day Weekend opening with a possible soft opening shortly before that.

RE: Mäch Tower

I really hope they open earlier because i want to ride it before school starts, :dodgy:

So...just in time for all the kids to go back to school and the summer to be over?

RE: Mäch Tower

Went to the park today and watched the tower drop twice. Few observations:

1.) The spin of the carriage is actually faster during the initial stages of the ascent, then slows down as it approaches the top. Not to be picky, but that initial spin seems really fast.
2.) When the carriage drops, the catch-car covering which is attached to the carriage actually vibrates. You can actually see it shaking on the way down.
3.) The drop is drastically longer than initial videos. You can't even see the brakes really pull on it till about forty feet above the encasement.
4.) The catch car descends much more rapidly, which will obviously help with capacity.
5.) Talk about advertising; this thing stops people in their tracks. Not a soul wasn't looking up around 12 ish.

With all that said, I am quite disheartened because I won't be able to ride it until atleast October, since I leave on Sunday for Blacksburg. So have fun without me! haha

^And i don't know when you saw it testing because for the six hours i was there it was rotating while ascending. I was there from open til around 2 ish.

It's OK, no one else will be able to ride it until October too. :p

I was there today as well and the whole time I was there (6 to close) they were doing full tower testing with rotation. So I won't be repeating what Skyrider just said, I'll just add additional thoughts to his points.

1) This is true. I was also very surprised to see that it doesn't stop at the top and spin as we originally heard it would.
2) I noticed this as well.
3) Again, Skyrider is spot-on. I should have a new testing video up tomorrow.
4) Nothing to add.
5) This. Right when it started climbing the tower, people instantly stopped and watched it cycle.

One more thing:
6) The air that comes off that thing is incredible- much more than KD's tower. It's so powerful that it repeatedly flung open the construction doors and it has actually damaged the construction fence. You'll want to stand near this thing in the summer. Forget those family dryers.

RE: Mäch Tower

That reminds me of Kingda Ka, when the ride first opened everyone would literally stop what they were doing to see the trains crest the top. Then everyone freaked when the launch screwed up before the park opened a month and a half later and thought it would be torn down because the launch track was missing lol.

I just got into my hotel and people are buzzing that MT is open... Should I break the news, or let them be stupid?

Just direct them to this site.
