RE: Mäch Tower

Whil I was there yesterday they were testing it non-stop and it was spinning. But I did notice that immidiatly after it hit got to the top it dropped, it could not have stopped even for a second. I wonder why it was doing that. That cannot be how it is supposed to be since it "shakes".........

Oh and the attendent said one week..... at least it wasnt 2 weeks

RE: Mäch Tower

I visited BGW for four days this past week, and I never received a notice about Mach Tower upon entering. They were testing it off and on during our visit. Sometimes it looked like a normal ride cycle, and other times it would stop at various places, spin, not spin, drop, or lower very slowly, with and without sand bags. There was no rhyme or reason that I could see, but I'm sure they were working on it daily.

The Rhine River Cruise boat driver said they were doing employee training and he felt it was very close to opening...maybe. He also told me some interesting stories. He said originally Moser wanted to assemble and test it in Europe before bringing it here, but BG didn't want to wait and wanted to have it on their schedule, so they said build and test it at the park. He said it was designed for the wrong voltage and had to be converted. He said the park wanted to make some last minute changes. And, he said someone is probably paying hefty fines for not having it open on time. He didn't mention any accidents or dameage during testing, however. I just listenedd and gained what I could. I didn't mention anything I had heard online.

I girl said this on BGW Facebook wall today and it would fit why they were doing this,

Sara Elkins:
I heard that the motor for the Mach Tower was not powerful enough, that's why they haven't opened it yet. They were waiting for a new one. Apparently the old one could not lift the weight of an average person in every seat. True, I swear!

Oh, and I'm jealous. I haven't been in over a month!

I find that hard to believe there are people who get paid to figure this all out on paper!

RE: Mäch Tower

Don't listen to any employees who say it will open within a definite time period (1 week, 2 weeks, etc.). They don't really have any idea. trust me.

RE: Mäch Tower

^^^ If what you said is true, I seriously doubt that Moser or the construction company will get any sort of fine. It was BGW that wanted it tested at the park.

^^ That would go inline with gardener14 said, as having the wrong voltage will affect the way a motor works. If what they said is true...:D

when it stops spinning near the top and keeps progressing is where it starts to vibrate....

RE: Mäch Tower

That might be why the ride was shut down in the evening. I didn't see anyone there other than the one employee. The guy did say friday after next, so soft opening this week and full tilt next sounds pretty probable.

Number one is true.

Number two is false because of number one.

Managers finally got to ride Mach Tower yesterday. Team members get their turn on Wednesday. Soft opening could be as early as Friday.

At least we now know it works and is safe for people to actually ride. Opening should be just around the corner.

RE: Mäch Tower

Um. According to an internet ad i just saw before an IGN video, it's open now. "Mach Tower. Now open at Busch Gardens Williamsburg."

I saw it before this video: http://pc.ign.com/articles/118/1187759p1.html

RE: Mäch Tower

^ I thought people have been saying for a while now that they have been seeing Mach Tower advertised as "Now Open" for a while now...?

Btw, this my new account. My other account (Kingadam719) got screwed up somehow and I'm pretty much locked out of it.

RE: Mäch Tower

Quote from TPR's BGW forum : "Yeah my supervisor told me told me today that Mach Tower will be an observation ONLY tower during Christmas Town which makes sense since you are supposed to admire all the lights and decor."

RE: Mäch Tower

I have had many employees tell me the ride won't be opening until at least the 19th. I've heard everything from Friday to Labor Day.
