RE: Mäch Tower

I was at the park yesterday and it appeared as though they were testing the brakes. There was no rotation/spinning on the way up and there didn't appear to be vibratining at the top either. Just up and down. When I asked the attendant when they were opening it up, guess what he told me... Yep. About two weeks. New name proposal: Mock Two-er. Sorry about that one...

I mean, it does something but it's the same exact thing that a flying carpet (DaVinci's Cradle) does- in fact, I think flying carpets do it better.

The S&S preference is completly understandable, but this part?

If I did not know you as a voice of reason for the most part Swift, I'd call that a trolling statement. There is no response I could possibly give that would not come across as insulting or sound like I was accusing you of Park Snobery, so I will try to refrain and just shake shake my head.

If it is like any other major ride, Moser is basically "On Call" for like 6 months to a year for any problems that crop up. So even if the ride has been "Turned Over" to the park, Techs from Moser can still be here for a long time.

RE: Mäch Tower

Flying carpets drop basically the same way drop towers do. I prefer flying carpets and S&S towers because they have substance to them. I can't enjoy a ride that just goes up, stops, and then drops.

RE: Mäch Tower

I definitely can enjoy a ride like that. Drop Tower at KD scares me every time and I love it (a big part of that is that if I was going to die on a ride it would probably be at KD...). This is just another lowly drop tower, but I do prefer the Moser design to the incredibly noisy eyesores that are S&S towers (cedar point).

no,ive been in va for 20+ years, so gettin a season pass every year got lame after ohhh, lets say.... 15years;plus working there made it a completely diff place. a new ride was the only thing that got my attention

RE: Mäch Tower

I had some interesting conversations with cast members in and around the Mach Tower area. None really seemd to know anything about when the ride would open. I joked with one that at the rate things were going they might make Christmastown. He joked back, 2012 might be more realistic.

Take all this with a grain a salt.

RE: Mäch Tower

Can mach tower even operate in christmastown? I know B&M dont operate below 40*

I saw employee training myself last tuesday, or what sure did look like it, as there was a busch employee at the controls in a light blue shirt and a bunch of other people pointing to this and that, I took a snap shot but i thought it sucked but here you can see whats going on a bit if you look....

Cerebral

Those look like maintenance and Moser people, not ride ops

RE: Mäch Tower

What have I been doing all year?

It's definitely out of the question for my visit on Thursday-Sunday. I might see dummy testing but that will be it, lol.

RE: Mäch Tower

And the Mäch Tower thread is working properly for the first time in a week as well...coincidence?
