RE: Mäch Tower

Good news for Mach Tower. This was posted by BG Noiet Al (A Busch employee) on the Theme Park Review forum.

"The big boss Mr. President of SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment is coming to Busch Gardens Willaimsburg today (Friday, July 29th, 2011) to ride Mach Tower. Or at least that was the plan, he is still coming, but I am not sure if he will be riding it? Also, they have been cleaning up Mach Tower, a quick peek inside the fence shows the area is pretty much preped and ready for the public (almost). So maybe Mach Tower will be open soon, this is either really good news or really bad news. I know because my supervisors have been doing some extra cleaning around the place. He can literally walk through the park and say your fired right now, leave, and you have to do it."

RE: Mäch Tower

I'm heading over in a bit. I'll try to get some more video if anything interesting is happening. (But I'll have my 5 year old, so that may not be as easy as it sounds...)

RE: Mäch Tower

The Mach Tower saga is (hopefully) officially over. Why? Well, I've just been told that Moser Rides signed Mach Tower over to the Busch Gardens maintenance department this morning. What does this mean? Well, it means that Moser and the park have officially deemed the ride to be in perfect working order and ready for opening. Worker training begins Monday.

After more than two months of delays, the time is finally almost here.

Omg, finally it is almost here! This is quite possibly the best news I've gotten in a while. Does that mean that we should see an opening by Friday? Also, is it true that the President of Seaworld Parks & Entertainment rode it recently? Supposedly some people saw people on the ride.

RE: Mäch Tower

^ I'm not sure if he was actually able to ride it or not. As for an opening, Friday could be a possibility. I should hear when they have team member night scheduled for before too long. After that, we should be able to make a more educated guess about an official opening.

RE: Mäch Tower

^ Thanks. I'm very hopeful that it will open really soon. I really wish it would have opened when it was rumored to back in May before the summer crowds, but nothing anyone could do about it. Just can't wait. Definitely utilizing the whole new Tower Time thing.

The media should be notified soon as well.

RE: Mäch Tower

^ It's actual work, not just training? If so, they're not wasting any time, are they?

If this is true, media day should happen on Friday.

I believe that is completely false. I was at the park in that area while this was supposedly happening. The were indeed testing the ride, but they has some sort of padding in the seats. The padding flapped around in the breeze which did give an appearance of there being live people on the ride. That, coupled with the rumors going into the day I believe are the source of this story.

Also, I asked several of the employees who had been working the area all day if they and done any testing with live riders and they all told me no. They did however say it should be open in "two weeks." :p

RE: Mäch Tower

I'm pretty sure that there will be no media day for Mach Tower at this point. The only logic behind a media day is to promote the ride at around memorial day to boost summer attendance figures. That day is long gone, and there really is no point in holding one in August when the park returns to weekends-only in just a month.

Hmmm, seems the ride's opening day will be very close to when I visit this year. Not really interested in riding it if it's open, there's always next year. I hope while I'm there people don't mistake me for an employee >_<

RE: Mäch Tower

If it opens this Saturday, I will be there, (If it does not open I will also be at the park.) I go to the park a lot throughout the year, but I have never been there on a opening day of a new ride, so it would be cool if it opens then.

I am getting the same thing. It's looking like there will be no employee preview.
