If the rumors also states concrete was broke, then this would have to be very recent if its true. Pictures taken after it crashed the first time didn't show any broken concrete that we could see atleast...

Anyone go to the park today?

I was there most of the day...around 530ish it was about halfway up motionless...I never saw or heard of any crash...nor did I see fd on property or a flurry of activity....

I was posting from my phone at the Mayhem Festival yesterday, then suddenly I couldn't see this thread.. The whole story is my wife got a text from her friend whose husband works for NNFD. He was told by his chief that Mach Tower had hit the ground again. We went back and forth a few times, the last message was that it had hit the ground 2 times. He didn't know exactly when this was to have happened. That is what I heard, like I said it's hearsay 3 times removed, however I don't think they were screwing around with people. It could be that what they are talking about is what we have heard. I just wanted to see if anyone knew or had heard anything else.

I hope you're right, but this could have been long forgotten. I assume the "first ride" deal was supposed to be part of some sort of opening ceremony. My guess is that all of that is out the window. It will probably open quietly. If you do get hosed, hopefully they compensate you somehow. Some free Tower Time passes would be nice :cool:

They have to have some type of opening ceremony or media day. It doesn't make sense not too. If you just open the ride you lose tons of free advertising from the media and a ceremony creates buzz.

I do remember them saying the first ride passes would be honored. I would talk to employees and find out when they will be testing Mach Tower with employees riding. They have to test all rides with people (employees) for a certain amount of time before allowing the general public to ride. I doubt they will forgo any testing just to get it open sooner. An opening will probably occur soon after the employees are used for testing. My contact there has heard nothing about employee ride time.

Yeah with it now being Wednesday and no one has still been on the ride yet for testing I'm going to guess it won't be until someone next weekend now. And I'm sure TS Emily might have some effect on the time table of opening as well.

I really hope it isn't true that MT crashed again. I did notice while on 199 that the catch car was descending so maybe it still is working?

This is what I've learned. The fire department was there yesterday for training/orientation, something to do with emergencies on Mach Tower. I'm going to figure the story was told of it hitting the ground, and then it just spiraled into "it crashed again." I was there this evening and they were testing it, the attendant told us 7 days, hmmmm. Can we hope?

7 days? Awkward to open on a Wednesday, seem to finished to open in a week and a half (Unless training is still going on) so I think it'll open this weekend, but if it doesn't it would be a savior for it to open next Saturday (Im going in 2 weeks.)

I remember someone posting that some woman said that you could be able to hear the vibrating seats all the way from LOD..... Would it really be that loud? Im also wondering what they mean by vibrating seats.... Will it be just a light vibration, or heavy shaking?

Just so everyone knows, Mach Tower employee training still hasn't stared yet. Anyone know what they're waiting on?

After all the trouble that has gone on. It wouldn't surprise me if they test the tower far more than normal t =o make sure when the employees start to train that absolutely nothing will go wrong.

I'm guessing it's going to be this weekend, when I'm scheduled for "working" at the tower.

I don't mean to be a debbie-downer....but I just...don't care about Mach Tower anymore. Is anyone really not excited for a giant bottleneck before the bridge with the 2012 coaster and Mach Tower?
