Opposed from the tacky move to place a French fries booth in the France hamlet of the park I really am looking forward to giving this place a try.

Being as Americana as I am it is a bit disheartening to read the reviews of the Murica' fries (chilly and cheese), but I have learned over the years "American style" foods has never been Busch's strong-suite...unless you categorize Trapper's as "American style" food as well.

I went to Les Frites yesterday and wasn't terribly impressed, but I'm going to write it off as opening day issues. When I walked in at about 1:30, the line was pretty short but the staff seemed to be standing around waiting for more fries to finish cooking and come up to the line. Some of the serving staff didn't seem to quite know what their job was and were meandering from task to task behind the counter, so it looked a bit like musical chairs. My girlfriend was in front of me in line and got her order of poutine, but then the server walked away to get a rag to wipe up the counter while the other server started taking the order of the people in line behind me. I ended up standing for about three minutes while nobody took my order and the people behind me went ahead of me. I ordered the Irish fries and the server struggled to squeeze enough sour cream out of the bottle, so instead of going back for more she just left the very little she had managed to get out of there. I wish I had gotten a picture, but the ratio of sour cream to fries was almost hilarious. Then there were issues with the family in front of me trying to pay with cash, so it took me another five minutes before I could pay and leave with my food. The fries (lacking sour cream) weren't that great, my girlfriend seemed to enjoy her poutine a lot more. I noticed managers all around the place, so that was encouraging. I've had plenty of bad experiences over the last couple of years with the food serving staff, so this is about the level of service I tend to expect.  I'll make another trip back soon to see if these were just opening day hiccups or not, it's definitely a restaurant I want to become one of my favorites.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. We have been there four times so far and have always had good customer service.

I will say that capacity low, because they serve freshly fried potatoes, and customize each order.

Yay much better today...no squirting of sour cream they just scooped in on.

Wow, that looks so much better than what I had on Saturday. I had about 10 drops of sour cream splattered randomly on the fries. Not exaggerating. Thanks! I'll have to try them again.

I have to pass this along about Brandon's lack of sour cream. We were there yesterday with some friends. Wife & I ordered Irish and they had at least a half cup of sour cream on top. Our friend behind us ordered the same thing and he was lucky if he go a tablespoon of sour cream. Not sure what they are doing or how they are measuring as it is done behind the condiment lid/cover but there was a big difference. He complained the whole time we ate. Hopefully they'll come out with some uniform way of doing it. I doubt our friend will go back.

I'm sorry I'm still harping on this, but I just noticed that Luke got melted cheese on his Irish fries and I had a handful of cold shredded cheese on mine. To recap, I had fries with cold hard cheese and bacon bits with little to no sour cream. A very dry meal, indeed. Kind of mad that I paid 8 bucks for that.

Our cheese was shredded, too. Made it kind of hard to get cheese on the fries. We ended up scooping up sour cream, bacon bits and the cheese with a fork and eating a fry and the topping that way.

The shredded cheddar is the standard cheese topping for the Irish Frites. Luke requested the fake cheese sauce. Personally, I prefer the real cheese, but you can ask for either. That is the advantage of their customizing each order.

That Luke, such a trouble-maker!!

I had the Smokehouse fries and thought they were great. Though next time I will probably just get plain ol' fries, since I like my fries, burgers, and hot dogs without all those toppings anyway.

Yeah, I'm seriously thinking it was a random number.

Confirmed it is officially just a random number. "That's just what's on the car." No meaning intended.

Who confirmed it?

One of the executives passing through.

Also, Luke flirts with the staff member making his food.

Tee hee!

My mom and I both ordered the Irish Fries on opening day. They had two different employees serving and my mom went ahead of me and was given the shredded cheese by default. The employee serving me asked whether I wanted the melted cheese or shredded cheese in which I chose the melted. As we were eating, my mom commented on how she enjoyed the fries but they would be better with melted cheese in which I pointed out that I had gotten the melted cheese. She was unaware that it was an option, and ended up being unenthusiastic about her fries while I thoroughly enjoyed mine. That being said, she immensely enjoys the Apple Fritters so I don't have to worry about her vetoing a meal there!

I really like the poutine, but I feel like the price of the dish itself is too much for what you get. I also like the cheese curds, but I love it that you can buy any other fries and ask for gravy on the side.

I agree that the smokehouse fries are the best. Yet the Irish fries are also very good if you walk them through how you want it. Otherwise, you may or may not get your money's worth with that one.

I haven't tried the apple fries yet, but now I can't wait to try them. Great review!

I couldn't agree more! The apple fries are absolutely to die for and are well worth the cost!
