KD has not really been a CF park that does intense early Haunt promotion. Unlike, say, Knotts Berry Farm. The park usually pumps out Haunt adverts-promotions after Labor Day.

Yeah, Virginian perceptions have been warped by BGW's super early Halloween event announcements. Easy to forget that Haunt starts CONSIDERABLY later than HOS.

There is a typo in the description for GrimmWoods on the Halloween Haunt website. It reads "Brother’s Grimm" instead of "Brothers Grimm"

maybe i’m missing something… why wouldn’t it be as long as a house wasn’t using the que line?
In previous years it would be open during the day, but they’d have to close the line to clear it, and then reset for Haunt. It sounds like there isn’t a maze in there this year.

It is a rather difficult ride to get on for most of my visits. "Hmmmm line appears to be out of the building............my legs appear to have shifted direction to the right prior to me seeing what the line was like anyway.......hmmm"

Y’all make sure to keep me updated on when KD posts a final announcement or trailer/commercial for this years haunt. Thank You!!

I went up to SFA this afternoon and since I was passing KD on my way home around 4:30 stopped off to use my real pass and to take a look at Haunt prep. Not much new right now but I did have an thought. The get wild set is still up could they be planning on converting it for a scare zone? Seem like the trucks and tents could easily be reused as part of a haunted dig site or something.

I’ve been seeing there supposed to be a haunt style jungle X show. I wouldn’t be surprised if that physical set stays there, but the show itself changes.

For the past couple of weeks riding Grizzly - from both the lift hill and final brake run - I've been trying to monitor progress on GrimmWoods.

On most days, the park seems to have someone out in the maze working. Though you can only see so much through the trees, I've noticed a few more set pieces added along the pathways. But I've also noticed quite a bit of activity on the last couple of structures along the path.

I unfortunately do not have any photos - because much of the progress can only be seen from Grizzly itself, and for some reason I seem to be one of the few KD patrons who actually rides the attractions with their phone fully secured in their pocket 😉 - but I am quite impressed by what seems to be enhanced theming added to those final structures along the path.

Again it's hard to see from that distance. But it appears they've added forest growth, such as vines and such (noting the additions are intentional, not from neglect of leaving the set pieces out all year). And on the structure directly across the path from the witch's house, it appears the roof has been switched out - where it is caved-in, with various debris like wood and wagon wheels sticking out from the top.

So though most here would likely agree GrimmWoods was a so-so experience last season - which is understandable, given it was its first year - of all the KD mazes, I'm personally looking forward most to seeing what enhancements have been added, and how this one continues to evolve.

GrimmWoods was the most unique Halloween maze I’ve ever experienced. It wasn’t scary, but rather felt like an immersive storytelling walk. The way they used the long stretches of woods, lighting, and atmospheric sound (twigs cracking, wolves howling in the distance) was almost surreal. GrimmWoods won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I loved it.

I checked the section of the Halloween Haunt website this year. It says that the attraction will still feature the same "three terror-filled stories" so I am not sure if they are adding more?

I heard their are new props and sets for Grimm Woods.

I also heard that since 21 is appearing at haunt, on kings dominion’s 21st year holding the event, that it’s probably going to be a collective of every house or scarezone from kd’s halloween haunt 21 year long run. I think that’s our best bet, kind of like an anniversary house. If not i thought it could be maybe like a bar/nightclub theme because you have to be 21 to enter, but i figured that’s a long shot considering that Club Blood already did that in a way.
