I'm a big fan of the more limited scarezone setups. It makes being inside them feel more emersive and chaotic. It also allows the many people who don't want to experience them a path around them.

To be clear, it has always been my philosophy that people who don't want to experience scares don't belong at an adult Halloween event. Unfortunately, Kings Dominion has ruled that people who don't want to be scared DO belong at their event (no stroller bans, No Boo sales, etc). Hence, the value of easy scarezone bypasses.
I like that they still opened without it though. As someone that doesn’t enjoy it, I always felt like I lost my ability to go to the park for almost 3 months.

I can't parse this. You're saying an event that last 1.5 months and starts an hour before the very latest they would otherwise stay open in the offseason, loses 3 months for you?

I've actually made a daytime trip at the end of Haunt most of the last few years, nice change! Haunt is the best though.

I actually usually found Lockdown to be a very effective house. The actors did a great job of stalking, interacting, and separating people from their groups. It didn’t rely on startles, which I very much appreciate.

I also enjoyed Lockdown. It was a little brief (though not egregiously short) but not only were some of the sets impressive (especially the two-story rooms), I thought it captured a sense of chaos and imminent danger like few other houses did. The constant alarm sound, the prison guards barking orders, all created such a dramatic feel. The only other Halloween attraction I can think of that so effectively captured such a “something’s wrong” feeling was BGW’s Wendigo Woods (RIP).

I apologize that this picture was taken with a potato.

Anyone recognizes the props? Saw these backstage from the top of the tower.

I remember the pumpkins. For the life of me, I don't remember the jumbo skeletons. Were they in the Kiddie area?

FYI, Clint Novak posted from inside the Condemned maze. (Lights on tour with Coaster Crew group). He stated that the maze would have "several" new rooms in it for 2022. They were also given a tour of the warehouse(s) where the Haunt and Winterfest props and decorations are stored. Just go to the KD season passholders Facebook group for his post. Another coaster crew member took about 15-20 photos of the warehouse(s) and posted there as well.

I don't like haunts, I don't enjoy being scared, and I tend to avoid parks when they are going on. If I can go during the day, enjoy the park without the scares, and then know I have to leave and will avoid what I don't like....yea I feel like I'm getting something back.

If the information leaked there is correct, it’s interesting that 21 will be in Planet Snoopy. That almost definitely means it will be in the old Blackout and Doll Factory building. It also checks out with @Zachary ‘s report that the maze is thought to be somewhere in the vicinity of Jungle X, since the building is located right beside the Jungle X entrance.

I do wonder if the description isn’t complete though. It’s super generic and vague and really says nothing about the theme or content of the maze. I also swear I’ve seen that exact description used to describe something else Haunt-related before — could it just be a filler before the page is finalized?

Yeah I could see that. I noticed that too about 21’s description, I would’ve expected them to explain that it’s an anniversary house or at least a collection of past houses

Makes me feel the new house and scare zone are placeholders on that link. Not sure why they would go out of their way to hide returning Halloween Haunt attractions though. Sounds like the new Scare-zone is going into Jungle X and the uprising zone is going from Jungle X to the center walkway.

They aren't hiding them, they're probably still updating the site before making it live.

I’d be surprised if the 21 synopsis changes much from what’s written on there. Part of me thinks that they’re trying to intentionally be vague with what’s in that house?

The other new shows and zone synopses feel like they’re written well to describe the new stuff.

I was looking over the link with the “leaked” Haunt info, and I found a possible discrepancy. Cleaver is listed under “Grove Midway.” Shouldn’t it be listed under “Candy Apple Grove Midway?” Or has it always been referred to as “Grove Midway”

A lot of the locations listed are more specific than the name of the area the attraction is located in. For example, Uprising’s location is listed as Center Street which is part of International Street. I think “Grove Midway” is meant to differentiate the area that Cleaver is located in from other parts of Candy Apple Grove like the plaza by Twisted Timbers. CAG is such a massive area that just referring to the area name would be an almost worthless identifier.
