Apologies for he triple post. (Can you tell which is my favorite park Hamlet? :D )

An article about closing the BrewMaster’s Club - No more free beer at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

I knew employees use to get things like family season passes. But, I had never heard they were allowed two cases of free beer per month. Now THAT is a perk. How cool did this park use to be?

Busch Entertainment Corp. confirmed reports on Monday that it will no longer give free beer to its guests at its beer garden at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. The decision applies to Anheuser-Busch BrewMaster’s Clubs at its nine other theme parks.

Busch Entertainment Corp., is the amusement park subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev. Belgium-based InBev bought St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc. in a $52 billion deal that closed in November. Anheuser-Busch is a wholly owned subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev, which is now the world’s largest brewer.

Busch Entertainment has also told employees that they will no longer receive free beer. Previously employees were allowed two cases of free Budweiser beer a month.

Visitors of legal age will be able to buy beer at the parks, which will convert their beer sampling hospitality centers into cafes and restaurants, said Fred Jacobs, a spokesman for Busch Entertainment.

"The hospitality centers had pretty limited appeal because it was for patrons who were of legal drinking age who wanted beer," he said. "We were looking for something that had a broader age appeal."

The couple dozen employees who worked in the hospitality centers will be moved to other jobs within the parks, Jacobs said.

Last month, the brewer announced it would cut 1,400 salaried workers in its beer-related divisions, leave 250 U.S. positions vacant and eliminate an additional 415 contractor positions. None of those affected jobs were in the theme parks.

"Busch Gardens® begins another season of fun and excitement on March 16 when the world’s most beautiful theme park opens for the 2014 season.  World-class roller coasters and amazing shows combined with one-of-a-kind dining and shopping experiences are all waiting for guests this spring.
The park’s Ireland village will be sham-rocking in an early St. Patrick’s Day celebration.  Guests can enjoy dining discounts on Irish-themed fare and can get a free Connemara Marble worry stone with a $30 purchase at Emerald Isle® Gifts."

The big baked potato?!?!

I'm sorry I laughed pretty hard at the idea of them giving you a free rock with a $30 purchase.

I understand the significance of a worry stone. (Really I do, they can be very helpful when you're stressed. And I don't mean by throwing it. If you're throwing it, you're using it wrong.) But, it's just the idea behind it that made me laugh.

We might see some extensive work done in Killarney this year. I have heard reports of jack hammers ripping up the ground.

Also a rainbow bridge has been added, I am assuming a temporary one for the first weekend?

EDIT: Sadly no news about Europe in the Air and the status of its signage. I am assuming it may very well be open for 2014, unless things change.

Like I said, I assume it is the small one that was used during original Ireland Illuminights show. Small and subtle and temporary. The jack hammers I heard was something separate. Didn't mean to confuse the two.

Rainbows and a rainbow bridge are parts of the cheap gaudiness that we have come to see from the park lately.  They are part of the reason the magic the park used to have is no more!

Nope. That's your opinion, this is mine. Nothing wrong with differing opinions.

Hey guys! Looking for help with identifying one of the songs played over the sound system in Ireland by the park. It's an afro-celt song featuring the standard selection of Irish folk instruments, along with a chant consisting of but two words, over and over: "jumba jumba" (or some version thereof). Not a very fast OR a very slow song. Moderate in speed. Very cool. Almost new age-ish (tried Afro Celt Sound Sytem...doesn't appear to be any of their material).

Any help with song title and artist would be greatly appreciated! I tried contacting the park, but no answer has been forthcoming as yet.
