Watched "As Above, So Below" last night. I would LOVE for the park to revamp Catacombs to match the terrifying feeling this movie gave me. Gives the Paris Catacombs a much more evil feeling.

Also, all signs point to the train returning, and thank goodness 13 is being replaced.

I agree with you very creepy vibe! I think it would really raise the level of that house! And yes the one year i went to HOS 13 wasnt close to my favorite house. And it didnt have to do with the clowns lol
IMO clowns are terrifying, especially ones like pennywise from IT or the one from this past season of American Horror Story. That is something i wouldnt mind them bringing back if they could do it correctly. I go to haunted houses to be scared so seeing them do a well done clown area would be a winner with me.

In my opinion, Busch has always been able to pull off clowns pretty well. The argument I've seen though is that it's just so easy to pull off, since even "happy" clowns look so uncanny to so many people. I just have early memories of the festa part of the haunted train, "dead" people hanging off of a ferris wheel while carnival music played. That scene had no actors but it is the only part of that ride that's been burned clear as day in my memory since I was 8. Even though pirates are just as much of a Busch tradition, I'll be glad when they finally go and Festa Dementia comes back.

I don't have my hopes high for Catacombs honestly. Last year they didn't even have the maze near finished when it was time for the actors to begin training. With all the new stuff and the maze being as old as it is, I get the feeling it's not going to be high on the design crew's priority list. I hope I'm proven wrong though. My boyfriend was that last "drop door" scare as you exited the maze, and so many people already knew he was there. That scare and the bungee cage scares have just gotten so stale over the years, as much as the actors try to get creative with them.

That's the exact problem most houses run into over the years is predictability, especially with HOS fanatics such as myself.

If the haunted train is returning I'm applying for a position. I was on the last year they had the train and it was the EASIEST job EVER. I'm glad everyone enjoyed it. :)

Can it just not come back at all? I'd rather not have all the other houses suffer even more, because the park decided it was a good idea to use more of their new hires to staff a ride that should be used for transportation only. Not to mention, they need to keep the cost low. Decorating the train route, on top of staffing it would be a ridiculous feat in their state.

I enjoyed the haunted train, as a child. But, it needs to stay in my memories. Because one, nothing will ever be as good as my memories. And two, the reality of the situation is, it wasn't even all that scary. You're constantly moving. The actors can't get too close to the train, for their safety. (While an actor in a house, can be all up in your personal bubble. Y'know, if they decided to be a risk taker, instead of just saying boo.)

It'd be a waste of time, money, and any effort they put into it. Not to mention what a pain in the ass it would be to lose the train as a mode of transportation.

...You have a point, especially about the transportation thing.

There's always the possibility that the people who have "HoS Train Op" as their call center could be staffed at an area nearby that shares that particular time clock, kind of like how both Bitten and former Root have Festhaus.

Change of subject, but is anyone else wondering if they're going to bring back that awful make-up that the Terrortories had last year? That's something I'm glad I didn't get to see.

Could we possibly see the train go throw some kind of village, since the crews has been stopped in tracks,?

I agree with you on these points. While i have no frame of reference on how the train was, But i can see a bunch of the snafus it may cause. Transportation will be a night mare with out it. Also with the park not having the money to properly staff and decorate, im pretty sure we'd end up with another "house" that everyone agrees wasnt worth the waste. And whats the point of taking on something large like a haunted train ride when you have a few other houses that could use the TLC?

Was that makeup on the wandering actors or something guest could pay to have done?

Ive only ever seen the pirates in festa italia. I wasnt a fan. Pirates arent really my thing but the one thing i can say is they had a good choice in music. Nox Arcana is always a good way to go. It made it a little more tolerable as i personally love the group. Now for clowns i have seen pictures at night if lighted right im sure id have been terrified. :O

For the love of god why can't Masquerage just come back? It made me so jumpy with the fan scares they had..and the theming was great. It was only here for 1 year and I don't know why :s

Masquerage was broken in to pieces and has been used widely in other mazes.

Do we have any actual data that the Train is even being considered?

From what ive read on here, ppl are saying there is a spot for a actor needed on or for the train. My husband is thinking from the way they worded it(the first teaser) that they may be doing one.I reminded him it just might be poorly written. But for concrete evidence im not sure.

I never had the opportunity experince Masquerage but it was sort of obvious if you ever visited that area of Festa back in 08. The whole area was covered in queue. You have the line for Maquerage going through the RR plaza all over the place and then having to go inside of La Cucina due to lack of space. Plus, there was Wicked Woods right next door so on those Saturday nights when the park reaches capacity it was a madhouse. Some nights it would get so busy in Festa that they actually had to re-route the lines for Wicked Woods all over the place. That was the only time that the park put two houses in Festa and from what I heard the park isnt going to use the RR queue building for awhile as the park has found new locations to use for houses since then. Ex: Backstage of The Royal Palace Theatre, Germany Employee Parking Lot,ETC

The longest I saw the line for the train, when it was a ride was maybe 2 and half - 3 hours long. The line extended from the station, through the old Eagle's Nest, used 98% of Le Scoot's queue, then came up and around the shops and went half way down the hill towards the Alpengeist bridge.

I'm not sure if it made a ton of difference as far as crowds on the path went. I imagine the line ate so many people it helped aid in pathways being less crowded. Though to be fair, the park never really was crowded to begin with, as HoS wasn't nearly as established then. Houses had huge lines, but I vaguely remember the pathways being fairly clear.

Now-a-days, using the train as anything more than transportation would be a nightmare in itself. I'm sure many people on here remember when CT decided it was a good idea to turn the sky ride into an attraction. (For a more modern reference.)

I'm 99% confident the train is not being considered.

Masquerage's ghost lives on in Catacombs and Bitten. Most of the walls make up Catacomb with the arch and other props used in Bitten.

What is your explanation for the "HoS Train OP" call center then? Do you think they could be building a house nearby?

Has anyone seen any signs of construction in the park yet, or is it too early still? When they used to have the haunted train, signs would go up early August and you could see props and tombstones and things stuck in random places. So by then we might have our answer, I guess. I kind of wish they would still decorate the train paths, if only with just pumpkin lights and tombstones. I find the total lack of theming to be kind of jarring.
