Deadline is a museum, in my opinion.
Now may i ask has this one always been so slow? I know from the gradual hand of time some attractions become less fresh the longer they let them play out but since ive only been once, i really dont have a frame of reference.(please pardon my constant curiousity lol) :)

Once again, this is just my opinion...

I don't personally recall it ever being anything more than a very well decorated maze, almost completely lacking in actors. That said I missed its first year, so maybe it started out good?

The subway scene is sometimes staffed and can have some great scares. Mostly I just walk through and admire the props.

The first year was definitely the best. I totally agree with the museum comparison.

Side note: WHY CAN'T PEOPLE ON FACEBOOK GRASP HOW HOWL-O-SCREAM IS SPELLED?! Every time I see hallowscream, I want to scream!

When Deadline is well staffed, I always thought they had the most creative scares. Like when you go through the subway car, there are prop people set up that you have to walk by but the scare actors would also sit really still next to the dummys so you weren't sure which were which.

Also, sometimes I would see a guy dressed to look like a pile of rags and you would walk right by him thinking it was just a prop, until he jumped at you.

Thanks Ladies i really appreciate the info! Its nice to have ppl who are more familiar than i am and it is interesting to hear the opinions of ppl who have seen more incarnations of each house and terrortories. :)

As the others have said, the first year of deadline it was pretty good. After that the actors dwindled and looked like they didn't know what they were doing. If you look at the house itself while going through you can see plenty of trap holes in walls and plenty of various hiding space. They just either a) don't have the staff to use them or b) the staff choses not to use them.

There has only been one time I've gone through where I've seen anyone use the vending machine for anything more than a "boo!" And something to hit your hand on to make a loud noise. Last year one of the times I went one guy managed to jump up half way to the top and lean over the other side of the vending machine and reach down. Not only does it make a loud noise of a body hitting the machine, but you had the additional "suddenly there's a hand in my Bubble and its reaching for me" experience.

It was rather nice to see. But I imagine they didn't do it often because its physically taxing to run and jump and constantly hit yourself on the vending machine.

If you haven't seen it yet, on the BGW Facebook page, there's a teaser blurb similar to last year's theme blog. If I recall correctly, this is about the same timescale as "Accursed Occurrences".

EDIT: Or, you know, I'm just super slow and kinda feel dumb now. Carry on!

I'm so excited!! I like that they do this type of thing now it makes the waiting easier in my opinion.

I agree. It almost makes me think they're putting extra thought into the event, but I still won't get my hopes up. They did this last year too. A pre season storyline tradition still seems fun, either way.

I don't know how many years we have to ask for Bitten to be changed before they do it. Even on the most busy nights the past few seasons, the traffic at Bitten has been a complete joke - enough to warrant getting rid of it or changing it.

Has anyone heard any rumors about a train this year? Audition callbacks are happening, and there is a role called HOS Train Operations for a "Performer."
Thats seems interesting, i would think doing a haunted train would be hard on both a budget AND in helping to get people around the park. But i wait to see the outcome maybe ill be proven wrong. :)

2014 has been a great year but now it's time to put on your thinking hat and start speculating on this Nightmare Express.

Oh holddddd up. Nightmare Express? Did you know about the train coming back last year?

Hmmmmm, very interesting. Was it just one role?

I only want to say no right now. It is not only one.

I'm not trying to funny, but are you newer to HoS? I ask that only to see if you have experienced the previous HoS trains.

No, I used it as a metaphor as the HOS thread can be a nightmare with rumors and ideas being thrown around left and right. (Don't be scared to share your HOS ideas as we have a thread for that somewhere.) Although, a conductor once told me that the train is put on the concept board every year but turned down due to:
A: Large staff needed
B: The park would have to either use props found in the park or buy new props
I'm 95% sure that a new variation of the haunted train will not be debuting in 2015 though I would be more than happy if I'm wrong. Who knows, maybe in 2016 we will have a new VP of entertainment and a new train attraction for HOS.

You are correct in that. I am newer to HOS. And im out of state so i dont get to visit as often as id like(so sometimes i think maybe i shouldnt post since i dont have alot to base of off and there are alot more people on here who are more informed than i lol). So no i havent experienced that before the last time i went the train was only in operation as a train
