I'm going to go ahead and say that the train is probably coming back this year. Also a maze possibly going in Forest of Fun.

Just thinking out loud here, but I think it would be neat if the park hired a single performer to narrate the train ride by telling a spooky story over the PA system. Given a good actor and a long enough story, I think it could transform the train ride into a unique and entertaining mini-attraction that would make sense economically. Even though the park would only have to hire one performer, I fear that if they did this, they might go the "cheap" route and simply play a recorded spiel, which would detract from the attraction's uniqueness.

On second thought, maybe this concept would be more at home on the Rhine River Cruise, to make use of the more intimate arrangement and take advantage of using a live performer. Hmm...

A few people (myself included) have brought this idea up in the past and I fully endorse it. I'm all for using the Rhine River Cruise as a special event attraction whenever possible- I think it's a great canvas that a lot of neat things could be done with. Plus, since, unlike the train, it's not a mode of transport, additional guest traffic won't negatively affect the larger in-park experience.

Experts in the field have been brought in to examine a large buried object. Early speculation points to a man-made construction created from indigenous wood. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is currently evaluating its options.

Probably already mentioned, but 13 is gone. Replaced with a castle themed maze, possibly named Castle Sullivan.

I'm alright with a Castle Themed Maze for Ireland, it makes sense. But for the love of god, please don't call it "Castle Sullivan."

It wouldn't be horrible if they called it "Castle Freakenstein" and played off of fiends.

HR is using code words and cost centers for certain employment offers. The 'Castle' has already been fully cast apparently.

Hello! I've been reading this forum for a while but I've finally decided to post! I've been going to HoS since the beginning, so I really hope the train rumors are true. And I know that this is probably the most unpopular opinion ever, but I'm kind of sad to see 13 go actually. For personal reasons. But I'm surprised they kept it up this long as well.

Welcome ghosty :) Ive only been to HOS once so im kinda glad to see that they are bringing in new things this year. Even if its just to say that i seen something new. I really enjoyed the houses that year even if it was to just look at the props and the sets. Im interested to see what they do with the new ones! NOw as some one who has done work with haunted houses, make up, and the like i would love to see them clean up bitten a bit. Its a good house it just needs a little love. A few new things i think will do wonders. :)

I agree! I still love Bitten because it reminds me of the NeverAfter, a series of mazes from which Bitten gets many of its props. The only problem with it is the fact that it's been here for so long, and one member of the original cast isn't going to be in it this year (so long, Vampire King). There is a lot of new-ness floating in the air, and I think that could be a very good thing as long as Entertainment plays it smart with the budget they have.

I wish i could have seen that(NeverAfter) and the Wicked woods pictures of both look so cool!I am coming into HOS as most of the houses are getting old. And yes unfortunately time is not a haunts friend. It takes a big toll on them. I got lucky because the one we did never stayed up always came down after each run(year). So every year we started new again. It made us go back to the drawing board each time. But with bitten I believe( and please correct me if im wrong) is a permanent house. So each year the stage is already set for them, all the have to do is tweek a part add a prop there. And that can be a downfall in a business(meaning the horror industry even though i know this is only a seasonal event) where you have to constantly come up with something never seen or something new every year.

In all technicality "The Dark Tower" was a Castle Themed Maze - and it already encompassed a lot of things that were in 13, Clowns, Spiders, other creepy crawlers. So I would not be surprised if this is what we see for the 40th Anniversary.

Does anyone else think the phrasing "Maintenance crews stopped in tracks" seems oddly worded.  Shouldn't it be Maintenance crews stopped in their tracks?  Was this done on purpose?  Maybe the park is referring to train tracks.  I think this might be hinting at the return of the Nightmare Express.  This coupled with casting rumors and the HOS Train performer job position lead me to believe, the haunted train will return this year.
