I am 90% sure that the clock shown in BGW’s trailer was the one used in the original Nevermore. When I first saw that in the trailer I got very excited, but Tampa’s Demented Dimensions recycled a lot from Nevermore so I didn’t know what to think. I also didn’t remember the clock being used in Williamsburg’s DD, which added to my confusion. It looks like Tampa essentially sent Williamsburg both DD, and most (if not all) of the props remaining from Nevermore.

I am super excited for this, as this is my favorite haunted house of all time. I have even heard a lot of people say that Tampa’s Nevermore was better than Halloween Horror Nights Orlando’s Poe themed house. Nevermore took a more unique approach, since it’s sort of set in a lucid dream sequence. I hope I am not over-hyping this maze, but I think this will be a huge step forward for Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

In park ads showing Howl-O-Scream pass-member preview as 9/16. Bummer that it’s on a Thursday, as that effectively makes it impossible for us to make the 3 hour drive. Hope you locals have a good time for us!

Poe served at Fortress Monroe for a short time. There are some scholars that believe the dark gloomy atmosphere there inspired many of his works. I wonder if there is any chance that the park might explore that local connection with the house.
Ok that’s cool. I would totally love some Fort Monroe inspiration in the new maze. My husband and I found ourselves there one quiet night playing Pokémon Go when it first came out, and it was deliciously spooky. 😆

Oh my ! I believed you for sure. Someone has the wrong info somewhere… maybe they are having a preview and a member exclusive night
I checked again. The calander shows that the park is closed on 9/16. This must be a member only exclusive such as the WCUSA splash member night in addition to the preview night on 9/10. I wonder if only a handful of houses will be open.

We all know everyone is dying to hear my opinions. I'll do a sentence each for what's official.

Killarney Diner: Little worried about the execution on this one, but an interesting concept nonetheless, good change of pace.

Nevermore: Yes 1000000%, and I'm not bias just because I'm a Baltimore clown.

Dystopia: Solid Pompeii basement is a staple for a good HoS, hope they keep up the staffing.

Circo: Still love the originality of this house, but it needs some serious attention to change it and extend it's service life if they intend to use this again past this year.

Hexed Hollow: Glad something other than vamps are here and this basically confirms the witch house in the festhaus woods, look forward to see how this is done.

Meat Market: Thank the gods the Vikings are gone, this sounds like a terrific theme for new France and I expect it to really be well done.

Garden of the Souls: Beautiful scarezone, glad it is returning.

Ripper Row: Obviously this needs to stay forever, they literally can't do anything better than this in England.

Phantoms of the Festhaus: This will probably still not be great as it basically sounds like night beats revamped but with ghosts, but still interested to see what they do with it.

Skeletones: I absolutely love the ensemble performances at Il Teatro de San Marco and I cannot wait to hear the brass quartet, excellent addition.

Jack is Back: Good for the kids, someone find me a way to purchase a Jack costume.

Monster Stomp on Ripper Row: Monster Stomp has become a staple, and though I wish we could get a rendition more like revamped, the ripper Row version still has a lot of what made the original so entertaining.

General thoughts: Overall, lots of new stuff to gain interest. I understand a lot we are losing is definitely due to staffing and potential budgetary constraints, but it really is a shame we are losing fools court and sideshow square. Two scarezone I felt were very appropriate and nice to experience. Hopefully the event manages to execute well.

Semi-dissapointed that they’ve converted Sideshow Square to a Party Zone. I felt like Sideshow wasn’t the best terrortory but it built the overall theme and created anticipation for Circo Sinistro. Will be interesting to see how this affects the staffing levels inside Circo. I will be less dissapointed if they take the actors from Sideshow and add them into Circo.

I think it’s worth mentioning that Meat Market is also from Tampa. Phantoms of the Festhaus sounds exactly like the story behind BGT’s Soundsational. It was very cheesy, but I thought it was a good show overall. The singers were good, and I loved the music arrangements. At the end of the show, they had an applause meter on stage which supposedly responded to how loud the audiences applause was for each of the two a cappella groups. Initially the applause meter was rigged, because they only rehearsed for the ending where the ladies won the contest, but later they had two endings and would only rig it if one team kept winning one show after the next.

And the house "Slaughter house " props could be used as well for Kilarney Diner
