Odds there was any deliberate thematic motive for using the term "witching hour" or do we think they were just picking Halloween terms from a hat
Possible other explanation. Could they be concerned that the rapidly changing Covid situation will make some of these plans no longer possible? They have been burned in the past by that.
It really depends when you visit. In years past i’ve gone on Fridays and even Saturdays the first two weekends of the event and not waited longer than 30 minutes for any of the attractions or houses but nobody knows for sure what crowds will look like after not having full Howl O Scream in 2020. Fridays should be reasonable throughout the event however crowds become unbearable and difficult to navigate paths are common on Saturdays during the month of October. If you’re only able to visit on Saturdays in October you can typically ride all the major attractions during the day and focus on houses at night as crowds get heavy around 4 PM in anticipation of the Halloween Festivities.I think this is a good reason.
Not to speak negatively; but a lot of places have re-instated their mask mandates for employees. Home Depot, Lowes and many other places across the United States. It's 3 months until Howl-O-Scream, and who knows what things are going to be like. I am praying that BGW, doesn't have to re-introduce it's "time slot reservation" again.
Can someone tell me what crowds are like on Saturday's at Howl-O-Scream? Are they just as congested as KD's HAUNT? How are lines for popular rides like Griffon, Verbolten, Tempesto and others? Is it worth buying the Quick Queue?

I enjoy them, they aren’t overly scary however I go nearly every weekend and I get a jump scare at least once every time i go through the mazes. Even when i’m not actively being scared in the maze I love to pay attention to the intricate details and that helps me enjoy the mazes even more. Arriving around 2-2:30 should be okay but be aware you may have to park across the street in the Scotland/Bavaria Parking Lot on busier daysThis sounds exciting.
I generally go for the crowds. For an event like this, I'll probably arrive at the park at around 2:00pm or 2:30pm. It sounds fun. Are the mazes good.

The house was beautiful but every time I was through it there were very few actors in it and it always felt more like a scary museum tour then an actual house where something might get me.Okay, super excited. This all sounds amazing.
I am a little upsetty spaghetti with whoever called Unearthed a miss though. Scarlett is the most memorable character in recent HoS history, and I thought that house was incredible.
