Well there goes my hopes for Ireland not to be a hot mess :/

I'm indifferent to the show itself. I think it's an okay day time show, something for families, but other wise a tired and worn out show, especially considering it's apparently the exact same show as before. But I really, really hate it's location. Not that there's a ton to do on that side of the park during HoS, it's still one of those things where it leaves Ireland a clogged mess. Even with a path to walk around the show. It's basically still useless to try to go through Ireland near show time.

It takes about 5 secs to look up the show schedule so you can avoid it when the like 11 minute show is happening.

Yeah, sure, let me just plan my walking schedule around an enormous, unnecessary, hourly roadblock constructed by the park. That's convenient.

Howl-O-Scream has very well documented crowding issues. There's a reason Jack is Back was given the boot originally—the situation hasn't gotten better since then.

You seem upset.
Let me walk you through this:

do you know how dumb it is to complain about this? You are mad that it takes about 30 more seconds to walk through Ireland than normal. They brought back a short show that most people love and is entertaining to most but how dare they delay your walking by like a minute.
You can’t be serious. Please tell me you’re kidding.

totally get the “cool” thing to do on here is bitch about the littlest things so you can try and prove wellll I actually don’t know why you guys do that but whatever..but this is just embarrassing

Have you not seen the photos of complete gridlock? Jack is Back in Killarney has always been and will always be a crowd control nightmare. That's just a simple fact. It was true a decade ago and it's even more true now.

I'm glad you enjoy it enough to stick around! ❤

One last thing...

All I've seen on social media is complaining that we have a children's disco pumpkin show (Jack is Back) instead of an adult-oriented, Howl-O-Scream-appropriate production like Fiends. I've been out in front of supporting the removal of Fiends, but I haven't seen "love" for Jack is Back being expressed by "most people."

Yeah, when I first heard Jack Is Back was returning, I was honestly pretty excited. I have a lot of fond memories of that show as a kid. But when I was actually at BGW this year I wasn't enthused about the show at all... probably because I'm not 10 anymore. Nostalgia can be a bitch sometimes.

I miss the Feinds show (and whatever would have happened to "she wolf"). i do understand though that after several years things do have to be kept fresh. i just keep thinking that every time a dollar is spent on a new coaster/thrill ride, a dollar less is spent on entertainment shows. how much money is saved (a lot?) by a 10-15 minutes out door show with recorded music show as opposed to a 25 -30 minute show with all the people having to run the special effects/recorded music etc inside. if it rains Jack is Back is cancelled but the theater is empty. if it had a show there would be (500+ i believe is capacity) less people walking around every few hours.

They probably saved a ton of money by basically just dusting off the old Jack Is Black show plans and pressing "Play" on the old show's mp3 audio file, rather than developing a new show from scratch.

On another note, I won't be surprised for a second if Fiends becomes another one of those shows that pops back up in some "revamped" form every few years.

I guess you don't mind dealing with this..

Wow rude much? I'm allowed to have opinions on a show that ran for like 7-8 years, that the only major change they did was make it MORE family friendly.

I'm well aware that people wanted Jack back, I'm not stupid as you are implying. I know we at bgw in general have a massive love and nostalgia for Jack. He was our only mascot for years.

People want the haunted train back, in any incarnation. And you know what? It's not coming back. I would 100% understand if Jack had come back last year for the 20th anniversary. It's a big mile stone for special events to make it that far. And bringing back old things would be fitting considering that's what Vault XX was all about. But instead they brought it back this year, marketed it as a brand new show. When anybody who has seen it before could tell you "oh they haven't changed ANYTHING"

That's where I'm calling bullshit. So we have an impossible to move through area for a so called 11 minute show that runs almost hourly, because /you/ forget that people have to get there early to see this show, and then everyone has to /leave/ the show. That could take roughly an additional 15 minutes each way. So now you're up to around 45 minutes. So during Jack shows times you /maybe/ have a 15 minute window to try and aim your goal to be to squeeze through Ireland before more people show up for the next show time. ???

So I repeat: it's an old and tired show that shouldn't have returned, considering it has NOT been updated. If it ran during the day time sure fine I supposed, it's family friendly enough. It continues to make Ireland an impossible to move through area even with set paths around the show because so many people go to see it and Ireland is a bottle neck. So if you want to plan your route through Ireland to time it through that small window then you go right ahead. I want it removed from it's location.

They could put Jack in Germany either outside or inside the Festhaus, because that area is big enough to accommodate the people wanting to see that show. But the show either needs to be updated or ditched. Don't market it as a brand new show when it's very much not.

It did run at 415 last Friday, not sure if it does that everyday. Maybe have a couple day shows and a couple late night but skip the heaviest crowds of the 5 till 9 timeframe.

The add on week will feature NO shows at all and Fiesta will be closed so this is your last week to get in your rides on Apollo and see those shows.
Thank you for posting this. ?
Except it's actually not true. There will still be some shows. In fact the only HOS show that won't be open is Night Beats. All the other shows currently have showtimes on the park calendar.

Somehow, I've managed to avoid that show this season. I've been multiple times but have never been in Ireland during that show. I'm feeling lucky, maybe I should buy a lottery ticket. ?
I’ve only seen it once. I feel like it’s not the same as it was in the past
