I swear it feels like they actively try to give me a reason not to come every year.

The weird thing is I could have sworn I still saw it in 2019 (and maybe Halloween Harvest??). Either they put a new troll in, or so I’m so used to it that my mind hallucinated an image of that statue and the grumbling noises. On another note, does anyone remember how there used to be this small bridge across from Pompeii during HOS? It made noises went you went across, but I haven’t seen it in about 9 years or so.

Maybe there is a new troll? I didn’t attend HoS in 2019 or 2020, but I could’ve sworn there was one as recently as 2018 (unless the material it was made of rots that quickly).

He's thinking of the Pompeii/Compass Circle bridge that still exists today. The park often put rumble machines on it to vibrate the bridge. Depending on this year this was paired with light and/or sound effects.

Oh - that's what I was thinking. I also remember there being a fog machine rigged up on one side - I think the platform for it is still there.

Yes! That’s it! Wasn’t there also a kiddie haunted house in Pompeii one year? I think I remember part of it being filled with rubber snakes...

One year BGW did daytime, lights-on, guided, actorless walkthroughs of Curse of Pompeii. It was a super neat offering that I miss a lot.

Sorta.

There was a haunted house underneath EFP called Curse of Pompeii, running from 1998-2008, later changing to Revenge of Pompeii in 2009 and running until 2010 with some minor changes. Beginning in 2007 the haunted house was open during the morning and afternoon hours before HOS for a guided lights-on tour of the house void of scare actors.

It was super cool and definitely something that I wished the park tried to implement somewhere else as it was a great attraction for all ages.
