100 days out and still no updates from BGW. Usually means they are rehashing the last event, but in this case it will probably just be a generic name with all the same houses, maybe one "new" house or terror-tory but virtually the same as last year. I hope I'm wrong but if previous years tell us anything, 2019 will be mediocre at best.

I've learned to just have fun with what I get from HoS. Regardless, I love walking through these houses and terror-tories. Even if it's not as good as it could be and it may not be truly scary, I just love the decor and all they put into it. I've learned to expect not to be surprised by anything, and just enjoy it.

As soon as I hit post, I thought to myself "I sound like a real bitch."

I look forward to HOS all year and even at it's worst (2017 I'm looking at you) it was still so much fun. So I hate to sound so negative. I just see the potential and sometimes I don't know why to park doesn't do more. That's all. Rant over for now. I will still be giddy when I see the first signs of HOS around the park.

Oh I totally get that. Every year I have hopes that they'll finally get it and raise the bar, and then I'm disappointed with the event. It's hard to love something so much and believing in what it's capable of only to be disappointed. So don't worry, your feelings are absolutely valid, and I 100% get your fustrations

I've gone back and read a lot of the posts from previous HOS and it's interesting to see the debates and speculation compared to how things actually turned out. Also interesting to see how many things that were considered awful then would now be welcome changes.

This post comes dangerously close to violating our rule against identifying park employees. After careful review, however, we decided that this employee's public, park-focused Instagram account qualified as stepping into the public spotlight.
I've talked to someone who has worked with HOS in the past as a scare actor.I was asking if it was going to be a re run of last year with out the vault and she responded. "Last season they spoiled us with announcing new and returning attractions earlier in the summer instead of mid/late summer like they used to,so i'd say that its still possible to go either way nothing new or something new-and they'll just be announcing this seasons lineup at some point within the next month or two" So it sounds like we just don't know yet.

While inside info is great I would not recommend directly quoting employees statements with their social media or even name without permission. Many people from the park occasionally read these forums and it would be a shame to see someone get in trouble. Less than a 100 days, all will be revealed soon...

I don't think the info she gave was too inside. It actually was very diplomatic. "We might have new stuff or we might not. And they might announce it tomorrow or they may wait until August." That's what I got from it.

It doesn't have to be inside info. The last version of the employee media policy I saw was very draconian and her account is in blatant violation of it.

Note: That's not to say I have some moral objection to her statements—I don't at all—but she should be very concerned about her job safety.

Just curious, what are the restrictions?

The last version I saw (a handful of years back) essentially forbade employees from making any public-facing statements about the park at all—whether it be on social media, to news media, etc. Like I said, laughably draconian. That hasn't stopped the park from acting on it previously though.

PS: If any employee wants to provide me a copy of the latest version via PM, I'd love to see it!

They are very strict. I don't have the actual guidelines anymore but I will ask around. Basically you can have it in your profile that you work for SEAS but you aren't allowed to say anything inappropriate (e.g. nothing overly political, nothing sexual). If you never identify yourself as an employee then the line on those isn't as strict.

Also you are never allowed to post or say anything about something that the park hasn't publicly announced. It doesn't matter if it's visible from a guest area. Anything that's backstage is off limits. An example would be Tempesto. The park started building it and it was very noticable during CT but the park didn't acknowledge it until March. An employee posting about it would have been a violation.

I will say that BGW doesn't require that you provide your social media to them and they don't have anyone whose job it is to review everything. Someone would have to report it.

Edit: Well Zachary beat me to it.

@Zachary - The code of conduct itself isn't confidential. I googled it and came up via a number of links. It is dated 2013. I PMed you the actual article. But, it is "public record".

Basically, an employee can't discuss anything that goes on within the property in any manner. As example, someone posts that a "one armed vampire will serve V8 juice cocktails in a new HOS venue" the company could terminate as it's an unannounced "trade secret".

Feel free to link it publicly if you'd like. I believe what you sent me is different than the media policy I saw a few years ago though. Don't know if what you found has replaced the old agreement or if they coexist(ed?).

I did post her response without her acceptance, but going to what @BGWnut said about the restrictions. She never stated anything about HOS with leaks or anything new related. She was just stating her response.but she posted it in the comments section on a public post so I dont understand "Restrictions".Besides I posted something that wasn't mine which I am wrong for on my part.
