Honestly tonight was one of the best nights of HoS I've seen in a very long time.
Honestly, when they said that Festa would be closed I just figured Sideshow and Circo actors would just have more days off. But to walk through Dystopia as the first house of the night and just suddenly see a clown scurry away after seeing me, was just something else. I legit had to stop to process what I saw.
Honestly it's the best I've ever seen Dystopia perform, and all of it was due to the clowns inside. I walked through twice tonight before leaving at 8:30, and both times the clowns were doing the majority of the successful scaring.
Frostbite was doing okay, better than Sunday but still has a lot to improve. But they were definitely moving around in the house.
Demented was about the same as Sunday honestly, with the exception of the last room, they had a lot of back to back scares going. And the puppet towards the end almost got me! If it didn't have to turn to face me first it definitely would have gotten me.
But Vault and Lumberhack were definitely the stars of the show.
Vault was moving around there was so much chaos and it was perfect. ALSO COUNT VLADTASTIC WAS IN THE HOUSE AND I ABOUT LOST MY MIND. I didn't think I'd see him again. I got really excited. But the best part was when
@Zachary was brutally murdered by a nurse. Just absolutely slaughtered by her words. I will never forget "I think you'd make a great monster, you already have the face of one." Like damn call 911.
And Lumberhack, I've never seen such dedication to one specific scare. I will always love and respect Mr. Outhouse and his dedication of using it. Just screaming that he has to go, charging into the outhouse, then popping out the other side shouting there's no toilet paper. Love it. It's not scary, but I appreciate it when the actors are trying to be innovative.
Speaking of, I guess that's prolly why the clowns were doing so well in the houses. I always give Circo so much shit because the clowns just stand around doing nothing. But tonight just going through Dystopia alone was such a clear sign of how bad the scare design is of Circo. It's obvious that these actors have the talent there to scare, but they don't have anything to use to make it work in Circo. Circo is just a bunch of large rooms with never enough actors to fill them. Even with staffing the way it is, which is amazingly high, it's just never enough to fill those rooms in Circo.
I feel like it's also the fact that it's jarring that you're going through a house like Dystopia or Frostbite and then suddenly there's clowns. But I also could see it as they almost have a little more freedom. They're not restricted by their character rules. I noticed this in Dystopia a lot but Frostbite also had an issue, where the actors within are almost, trying too hard when they aren't just standing there in the open.
I was just so incredibly impressed by tonight's performance in the houses, particularly of the clowns.
Side note, I want a Dystopian Clown House. They fit in much better in the house than the Borg knockoffs did.
