RE: Howl-O-Scream 2017

Curse/Revenge of Pompeii was the first thing to come to my mind in regards to props being reused. I believe the set for Roll Out The Barrel/Entwined V2 is going to be there as well. It fits well for a wintry grave. Bitten's props definitely won't go to waste either.

Frozen enemies, now a dragon. I don't know how many bags of gold it would have taken to buy Game of Thrones IP rights just for this one maze, but if they had a maze themed to that the park would be at capacity every day. You'd have people making trips from all over, just for that. HBO probably wouldn't make a deal however.

That said it's looking great!

I can't help but think of the guide/ride rail being a trip hazard in lower light compounded with intoxicated guests. Hmm

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2017

I have been hearing that they might cross over the track a few times (with a ramp I assume). It would probably be best to keep guests far away from each screen, but for them to do so with the other consecutive screen, they would either need a crossover or a barrier. That also takes up space and can sometimes be dangerous enough in terms of trip hazards.

On the first season and fist night of Root of All Evil, they had several people that were injured because a barrier was not where it was supposed to be. I think they probably have this all planned out, but I am a bit skeptical at this point about safety. One small mistake is all it takes.

FrostBite is not a ride? It is a haunted house inside of a ride that is closed. Yes you have to walk through it like any other haunted house.

I may be mistaken, but I believe the intent of this question was to ask 'will the house extend through the entirety of DarKastle's layout,' in which case one would 'walk the whole ride.'

Which of the mazes are wheelchair accessable? I have somebody I plan to take, just want to ensure she would be able to take part in the event.

Thanks!

Gorgeous pics as always, Luke!

Does anyone know offhand if the park buys their props from a specific company or actually produces their own? I'd love to buy some of that jack-o-lantern garland is all.

I'll defer to other people about the shows, as I don't watch them. You can check out the show threads from last year, but I think Night Beats is gone.

Night Beats is back; I know someone in the cast.

So uh....I'm someone that doesn't do all that well with, well being surprised. I tend to yell inappropriate things and swing my arms wildly.

Is HOS still safe for me to be at?

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2017

Define "inappropriate."

I jump and scream, when startled, which is fine. Some people hit the actors; that isn't.

Every now and then a swear word slips out. If I do hit someone it's by complete accident. I get kinda flappy when startled.

I'm quite a jumpy person. Always have been. If they like run at you, grab you, or stuff like that it's a little worse. If they just jump out or yell I'm not as bad. Like I already know I'm not going to KD for theirs because I will yell.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2017

Have you been to KD? They actually tend to rely less on startles.

In any case, the actors will jump out at you and say something to scare or startle you, but they won't grab you. In fact, they aren't supposed to touch guests at all.

As a guest, you should never touch an actor, or stop in the maze and hold up the line. But yelling and jumping are fine.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2017

I'm guessing I won't be back until Christmas time then.

FWIW I never try to purposely touch anyone. But my arms flap when I make a startled yell. I don't want to accidentally do something so I think it's best I stay away lol.
