They could play the music in the event building as well :D
It would be better than hearing Gerta scream "Vroom Vroom!" For half an hour.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

But remember the theme for Oktoberfest is vampires, so a Lady of the Gardens adventure on VBolt would not fit that (if only VBolt was in Rhinefeld...)
Then again, Vampires dont seem too fitting for it either, even though it would fit the hamlet.
Although Proffesor Quirl in "Harry Potter" does say he had an encounter with vampires in the Black Forest to learn some skills of the Dark Arts (pmhh no I didn't use the Harry Potter Wiki )

Masquerage was by far my favorite haunted house ever there. They need to bring it back, the people with the fans were amazing at scaring people.:D

I still don't understand why so many people made such a big deal about Fiends being such an inappropriate show. It definitely wasn't "KID-siderate" but it definitely wasn't a Vegas strip show.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

i might be completely off here but, if they can use the royal palace theater's backstage for catacombs. they probably can use the globe's backstage as a maze too right?

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

^^ I don't get that either. Fiends and Jack's Back were the only shows I saw last year. Fiends didn't come across to me as offensive or inappropriate.

Does anybody what BGW's HOS schedule will be this year? Will it be the usual 10am-11pm?

It depends on the space, for example, The Royal Palace Theater backstage area is just two big empty rooms that they can squeeze a house into, where as the Globe Theater backstage could be multiple small rooms or something of the sort, and in such case it would not work out to make a house inside of it. I personally don't know how the Globe's backstage area is setup, so I couldn't say yay or nay, just saying it depends on the setup. In theory it could work out, in reality maybe not so much.
However, rumors are floating around for new shows for the Globe, so we shall see what happens.

That's exactly why they're hiding Fiends.

I think if they wanted to go back to "kidsiderate" They would eliminate Fiends all together in place of a more "family friendly" show. The thing is, and most of us agreed that fiends should be in a different venue. Simply because no matter what the season is, the Festhaus has remained "the family eatery", and if they will be doing shows all throughout the day again this year It's simply easier for them to remove a "more adult show" into a venue you HAVE to go into specifically for the show. Not one you can blindly stumble upon trying to get some food(even with the ridiculously large signage they had,). With a large family the festhaus is really just the easier place to go... It's the "traditional" spot to eat, By making it inaccessible for families for parts of the day... Well, you saw what happened last year.

HOS starts at night so creating an atmosphere more suitable for families during the day is in no way watering the event down. The way I see it, moving Fiends is less of a headache for them, and more of an excuse to go all out for the show in a theater that is probably in all cases more suitable for it...

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I only hope for two things things year:

1) That they ban all kids under 18 from the event.
2) That they eliminate adult themed entertainment like Fiends.

Discuss.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I agree with Youhow2, by moving Fiends the park is just making the Festhaus more family-friendly for the day. I mean, I think the only reason why people blindly refused to read the signs was because hunger took over, and when you have up to 4 of more kids, it can get kinda scary so picking the closest place is definitely something that families are sort of forced to do.
With that in mind, If they had temporary gates up with Warning: Adult Content signs up in front of every door and three TM's yelling over a PA system, families might actually listen. You do need to keep in mind the GP's intelligence gets lost in the parking lot 95% of the time.

Its a contradiction!

But seriously,
1) Their target audience is 16 to 26 for Howl-o-Scream and being a Family-Friendly park, they want to cater to EVERYONE in the age range.

2) Refer to number 1.

Shafor b trollin'

Youhow: I feel that moving Fiends to such a location is sending the wrong message to parents wanting to keep the youngins at night. "We're adult, but we keep all the adult stuff away from kiddies." This is as bad as stroller parking for haunted houses.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Not ness scarily if the park goes with shows all day, they stil have the adult without the complaints.

But I do understand and respect your thoughts and opinions.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

If hos ends at 10 on saturdays in september do you think houses may open at 5 this year? I dont think 4 hours is enough time to do 6 houses on the first saturday of the event. How crowded is opening weekend?
