RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

*facepalm*

The source pointed out that Oak Island is the lighting production company that the park has been using for Illuminights and Christmas Town. It's their first year working with the park for Howl-O-Scream. In other words, lighting installation for the new Pompeii house begins August 1st.

From what I hear we can expect 1)Pompeii 2)Catacombs 3)DF Station 4)EITA

I do agree that I have heard that Cursed field will be no more.

I would expect the return of the Roman Rapids queue house and maybe using the Bumper Cars building as a house. other than that..........

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I loved Cursed: the theming, the combination of indoors and out, and the underused but iconic Halloween witch... but I have faith that Busch will once again wow us again this year...

Does anyone have scoop on if the scare will again be everywhere? Or what the themes are that accompany each country? (Rats in Aquitaine, Spiders in the reserve, etc)

Thats what I was thinking, but could the log flume queue be to narrow?

ok seriously they're going to keep bitten back there in that overly heated df building and tear down what is in my opinion at least the best HOS maze to date? honestly if this year continues the trend I might have to give up on my season passes, HOS WAS awesome but they are being passed up last year the worst house at KD was better than the best house at BG... I haven't given up all hope but I'm starting to get fed up, let's hope the return of clowns is enough to rekindle my love for HOS

Welcome back. I figured once HoS discussion fired up again you would be back here
lol thanks I only have internet on my phone right now

what if they used the train station in new france? I remember the queue for jack's nightmare express being quite scary like 5 or 6 years ago, not much room for theming but if they can turn rr queue into a carnival id be shocked if they couldn't make a good maze over there

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

What about using the bumper cars building? But they really need to put one in Eita. Almost the perfect place for one. I also think something needs to be back by the flume/train station. Theres enough room to put something back there.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Based on the Scare Squad website ( http://talentsearchbgw.com/scaresquad.htm ), it appears the theme is either 13 Years of Fear OR 13 Years, 13 Fears.

In other news, the HOS site has been updated with a teaser that more updates are coming soon. The site does not feature the 13 Years, 13 Fears logo anywhere, but suggests this idea but listing the attractions to be updated as numbers.

The main page logo is "The Dark Side of the Gardens. Fear Grows Here." I'm wondering if perhaps a new maze this year will be based on that theme-a garden taken over by evil creatures type thing.

It appears that there will be 5 houses, 4 scarezones, and 4 shows (adds up to 13). Monster Stomp Revamped is returning and they have listed a new scarezone called Widow Makers that seems to be a combination of the chainsaw guys and the spiders into one scarezone in New France.

Another year of monster stomp. Oh God...

I would expect MAJOR changes though. I am basing that purely off of the number of complaints from last year.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

^Agreed. Typically, shows at BG last about 3 years if they are a success and last year was MSR's third. They definitely need to mix it up at this point, especially since the typical HOS crowd is season pass holders who have seen it many times.

It isn't so much that it has been seen so many times as the quality of the show. People complained non stop and I think a record number of complaints on a show went in.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I am a rare season pass holder that doesn't enjoy the shows, the penguin "show" during CT is the only thing I've liked (I love Penguins :D) but I think this is bad news if they really plan on cutting mazes 5 is DEFINITELY not enough.

on a side note anyone think we'll see the tour guide gimmick return to Pompeii kind of an old with the new type thing I just thought that would be cool! even with the horrible actors I always enjoyed that begining now its just "misty" its overdue for some lowering of the mist lol

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Does anyone else find how they're revealing the attractions a bit reminiscent of how Cedarva did it last year on the BGWFans Wiki? Now someone just needs to start posting. Come on Busch Gardens, don't you remember how fun last year was?

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I remember last year being excited to see all the new things and then being told ZOMBIES would be featured then going and being like wtf busch lol but after the news of Pompeii being Officially announced I am incredibly excited I just hope clowns are indeed back cause that would probably ruin the event for me if that was a lie

what were such complaints?

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Here are the numbers of the attractions along with what has been revealed:

Scare Zones:
1 or 2: Widow Makers (New France)
7:
9: ? (Oktoberfest)
11:

Houses:
3:
4:
6:
10:
12:

Shows:
1 or 2: Monster Stomp Revamped (Ireland)
5:
8:
13:

What use is this? Well, they seem to be releasing the information in order. Number 1 & 2 are live on the main Howl-O-Scream site now. Number 9 is on the mobile map but has yet to be assigned a name. If we fill enough of this out, hopefully we'll be able to find some sort of location order of some kind. If we do, we should be able to predict where the remaining ones will be located.
