The only zone I enjoy is the cleaver bros as it seems the actors always enjoy it. Everything else has been a net negative, I've seen actors just walking through the motion. It's a sad sight, but I will say, they are so much more engaged than BGW.

After a while it gets old seeing the same stuff over and over again

Haunt neglect has been awful for years, but, in KD's defense, they're doing the right thing this year by replacing a house with what should be a major, very high quality, new build. As long as they do that once a year EVERY YEAR (skipping a year is unacceptable!), I think they'll be doing the minimum. In my ideal world, I'd like to see an older house refreshed and rebranded with a tag of some sort each year in addition to the major new house, but maybe that's a a battle for a few years down the line.

I would like to see the same on the scarezone front. Hopefully the test of the "premium scarezone" (read: the original, largely-never-realized intent of BGW Terrortories before they just became scarezones rebranded) in Texas goes well and we can see the same strategy implemented on that front (one major, very high quality, new, "premium" scarezone debuting each and every year).

Pumpkin eater?

I had a several really positive experiences with site X last year including actors telling the story of how they had accidentally uncovered a trapped prisoner and released him which fit very nicely with Overlord's return. I also have enjoyed Pumpkin Eater the last few years. Cleaver Brothers is just to stale for me change it out and be done with it.

I made that comment after a few drinks and kind of forgot about Pumpkin Eater and Site X.. lol
I've honestly had some of the best scares around pumpkin eater. Those on the bridge that slide always seem to scare me even knowing that they are there. Site X is also pretty good, I wish it was a little larger but they did well with the room they used.

Masquerade has been moved under the Eiffel Tower! Makes me wonder how similar the Heads Will Roll show will be to the original show.

Honestly, if they brought back the 2021 show with the same exact song lineup and choreography, that would be awesome. Still my favorite theme park Halloween show ever. In fact, I'm gonna go watch it again right now. I miss George, Sherri, and Alex being such a key part of the entertainment lineup at the park, through all seasons.

I really liked where it was last year. Lil Boo and I had great interactions and creepy experiences with them there that I never had when they were under the Eiffel Tower. I suppose if I cared about the opening show this might seem like a good change to me?

It's not just the opening show, Blood Reign. The actors from Masquerade would also join in the finale of Heads Will Roll, which was the big musical-dance performance that had several showings nightly.

But yeah, I agree that Masquerade works better as a scare zone inside the garden tunnel thing.

Masquerade moving back under the Eiffel Tower is a bummer IMO. I found it completely ineffective there because the Eiffel Tower space is simultaneously too open to create an effective scaring environment and too out-of-the-way to naturally happen upon and walk through as you navigate the park. Worse, the presence of the Bandstand means any spooky atmosphere is completely obliterated by the pop music coming from the show. The scare actors interacting with the show means nothing to me personally and only further signals that the scares will be basically nonexistent whenever a show is going.

Plus, the Arbor Tunnel is one of the most effective scare locations in the park. Masquerade moving out of the Arbor means a unique, immersive, claustrophobic environment will go unused for Haunt. That is, unless they move another scare zone into the tunnel, although the only candidate I can think of for that would be Catacombs, and I think that would be too difficult given the large amount of props they created for its location on the Center Walkway.

Haunt bullshit has officially been renewed for a 2nd season.

I present to you…

Maybe I'm missing something, but this doesn't seem bad...?

From my reading, anyone who joins OR RENEWS a pass by 9/7 is getting this free Haunted Attraction Pass. Doesn't seem like a bad promo and doesn't even seem to advantage new sign-ups over renewals? Feels like this exactly how how I'd want to see this deal be setup?

Current pass holders don’t get anything unless they renew now. The Haunt pass wasn’t even offered as part of renewals last year, and understandably, a lot of people seem pretty upset about it.

IMO, KD just needs to stay away from free attraction passes altogether. If some people have to pay for it, everyone should have to pay for it. I understand what KD is trying to accomplish here, but this really just feels like another “gotcha” for current passholders.
