Current pass holders don’t get anything.

According to the website, they do:

Lots of people seem to be quite upset about it.

The image KD made for this promo is super misleading so it's reasonable that people who are just seeing that are pissed. Classic KD messaging incompetence. Promo itself seems fine though to me.

They only get the Attractions Pass if they renew by 9/7, though. Meaning any current passholders who don’t renew by then won’t get access, even if they fully intend to renew later.

I just find it to be a disservice to current passholders. Do your existing passholders right and include one night of mazes with their pass. Maybe the guest perception improves, and maybe you sell more season passes in the process.

I think it’s a great deal for someone who isn’t currently a passholder, but what makes them any more deserving of that benefit than the people who have already been supporting the park? Shoot, plenty of passholders paid for houses last year, only for those same houses to become free later in the season.

I understand what KD is trying to accomplish, but this just feels like a mess and another example of KD’s recent incompetence and lack of consistency.

Meh. Sign-up/renewal bonuses that provide unequal advantage to new passes/renewed passes at the end of the previous season have been a thing for as long as I can remember (providing free FastLane, FrightLane, bring-a-friend tickets, etc.) This really doesn't bother me. Any consistent KD passholder knows that you should renew as early as possible each year to get the best deal/most value. When KD interrupts that, then I have a problem (which I think they did last year iirc?).

I would also be frustrated if a sign-up bonus was offered that DIDN'T apply to renewals as well. That's another place I'd draw the line on these types of promos.

Is an hap really worth it though? I’ve only done grimmwoods which was decent but If the mazes are on scarowinds level, I think not.
I mean if you're a haunt fan and go to theme parks for rides then you kinda got no option. Yea i could go to woods of terror ect but then I get no roller coasters. You're only other 2 in 1 option is Busch and yea we know how busch is. Way shittier than anything KD does for haunt besides shows

I've only done SCarowinds once (last year was my first visit) so I can't provide an authoritative comparison, but in my one experience, I found SCarowinds to, on average, have about a comparable house design level as KD, but found the average SCarowinds cast to be DRAMATICALLY weaker than the average KD house cast. KD scarezones are vastly superior as well.

I thought SCarowinds was worth it though so maybe your minimum expectations are just set higher than mine.

I will say that (especially recent) GrimmWoods is not a good reference to use for KD's Haunt as a whole. It's a very different house than the others.

I’m sad Carowinds isn’t doing this. They are doing bring a friend instead I assume to drive up attendance.

On tonight’s (brief) visit to KD. I got to take a look by grizzly to see what’s going on with Grimm woods entry path. I spotted a new concrete path from the go kart track leading into the maze area. Looks very promising to see grizzly open for this haunt season! Fall night rides looks like they’re coming back!
