Is there really any logical explanation for them not using wristbands anymore?
I think it has to be for analytics and to better facilitate (in the future) hyper dynamic pricing (possibly even guest specific), more granular micro-type-transactions throughout the park experience, etc.

It's maybe logical long-term if you think like a shareholder.

I can't fathom not bringing my phone in the park. Like why? Especially if you have older parents or kids and suff in your family that something can happen at any moment. Does a smart watch work if your phone is far away?
Yes a smart watch can make phone calls if it has a cellular option.

Yeah, it needs to have your phone in reach. At least for mine. I don't understand why they can't just still have an option for the wrist band for ppl that want it
My guess is they dont want people handing out their wristbands after using them or selling them. But i would think if that was the main issue then KI and CP would he the major places to not use bands since those are the more peopular places fastlane is used

i thought there was an entire deal where they check the wristband to make sure it's not ripped. This just does not seem like a good solution.

I would say the people leaving their bamds for others and handing them out at the gate before they leave are more of the problem than me who buys them 2nd hand vs paying park price.
Alright fair. I just wish they'd maybe... I don't know... Hire more security to watch out for this stuff instead of making it now a convoluted system, therefore making it everyone's problem.

Security cant fix that lol Unless theyre in someones DMs about meeting up then it's impossible

Being forced to buy online only and then an additional $10 fee is absurd. Guess this will be another year my family skips Scarowinds which also cost the park money because that means no food and beverage revenue from us and no souvenir purchases. Now how many other families will do the same and does this help turn around attendance issues that have been hindering park growth, or just continue six flags spiral that repeats decade after decade.

I'm 100% skipping FL. Not worth it. Grizzly isn't even on it in the first place, and if I want any fof rides I could just do them in the morning. As for Pantherian, I'll prob do it a few times, but I'm fairly certain I'll survive without FL.
Still 50/50 abt HAP.
Edit: FL is officially a big fat hell no. Queue Times Website predicts the crowd level the day I'm going at 37%.

Can it see texts and stuff? I thought they have to be near your phone to work or connect. Or is that when you puy for cellular on it
Yes you can see texts and reply, make/receive calls, use your Apple wallet to store KD bar codes for entry, discounts and payment. You have to have a smart watch that supports cellular (I have Apple Watch Ultra 3) and a cellular plan (mine is $15). No need to have your phone near to use.
