Neat little promotional for the ride.

Can you believe Griffon will be nine in 2016?

I guess you are referring to this discussion?

It would make it much easier if you quoted the posts to which you are responding, especially when the conversations took place that long ago. The obvious exception being when you are responding to last post.

I will assume your question was rhetorical.

Ommmggg nine years!!!
I know, it feels like yesterday I was watching the animated POV of the ride on TV. I don't remember how but you could watch the POV through on demand with the cable provider COX.

Also, for a real throwback anybody remeber griffoncoaster.com? If anyone wants to see a watered down version from the wayback machine click here.

I still remember going opening weekend and witnessing the line at over two hour wait stretching all over the plaza and almost going underneath the ride along with the single rider line being a walk-on. Oh and the colorful knights walking around ah, the memories.

Not sure if this is new or if I have just never noticed it, but this was in the station today. It counted down from 2:45ish and started when the harnesses were unlocked. As people secured the harnesses, the individual seats turned from yellow to green. The clock stopped once the train started moving, and then switched over to something along the lines of a picture of griffon. The whole process started again when the next train pulled into the station.

As of tomorrow Griffon will have been open to the public for nine years. Here's some images from the Daily

Not to be nit-picky, but Griffon soft-opened to the GP in the late afternoon on Sunday May 14, 2007, three days before media day.  The park was conducting test runs all week during operating hours and the ride-ops didn't even know they were gonna open it until it happened.

I wasn't there that day as I was in Orlando for my cousin's wedding that weekend but I was able to attend media day on May 17th.  Because of the amount of media people the park invited, they staggered the invited riders to come in three separate groups: early morning (5 a.m. - 9a.m.); late-morning to early afternoon (9 a.m.-2 p.m.); and afternoon to early evening (2 p.m.- 6:30 p.m.).  I was selected to go in the early morning group from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.  We were told to arrive around 4:30 a.m. though as this first group was there to "warm-up" the coaster for the media, who all started arriving around 7 a.m.  As soon as I got to the station the techs just finished mounting the cameras on the trains and I was on the first train out that day at about 4:50 a.m., so my first ride was a night ride.

Was there (at the age of 14) with my mother. Can't remember our "time slot" - or if we even had one - I'm sure we did if you remember it so well/clearly. What a glorious day...

Do you think anything "special" will happen for Griffons 10th birthday? I feel like it's gonna be overlooked with InvadR opening and all. Even something as small as new paint would be nice.

I imagine the park will post something on social media and I could see something small like banners possibly as they did that for Apollo's 10th. I'd love to see them add more speakers and play the dramatic music used in the ride animation similar to Apollo's lift. Hopefully, the park does something and just doesn't completely ignore the 10th anniversary.

I'm probably way late on this but I wanted to recreate Griffon in Planet Coaster the other night and realized that the dive coaster in the game is literally Griffon. The bars at the front of the station, the trains being floorless, the 10-wide seating, even the default color scheme, all Griffon.

Sorry in advance if you guys were already well aware of this.
