Jonquil, I find it to be a charming coaster. An amazing story can suffice for a well themed coaster.

So... this happened.

We were sitting on the patio behind Josephine's and noticed something out-of-the-ordinary. Over by the bottom of Griffon's first drop, the fence to the ride's restricted area was wide open. Wide open. It was a catastrophe waiting to happen. The weirdest thing? It was still padlocked, meaning someone locked the gate without even checking to make sure it was shut. Luckily, Zimmy became a hero and told a park manager immediately and issue was resolved. Just after, two innocent little children bounded down the pathway in the direction of what was, a minute earlier, an open gate that could have led them to their deaths.

It was... startling to say the least. Very bad things easily could have happened had the good people of BGWFans not tended to the issue.

I should point out, that it was the super nice manager of Josephine's that I was able to retrieve. He is really the person to thank here. He acted quickly and calmly. Did not make a fuss, went down held the gate closed and called someone from maintenance.

He really stood out in my mind all day as a great guy.

Also he hauled away the really dangerous looking large chunk of steel pipe that had been left lying around.

Busch Gardens' Griffon included on weather.com thrill rides list

Weather.com has named the Griffon rollercoaster at Busch Gardens as Virginia's best thrill ride as part of its "50 States, 50 Thrill Rides Across America" photo gallery.

Of Griffon, the website called it "the fastest 'dive coaster' to date, the Griffon offers heart-pounding thrills with a 205-foot, 90-degree, 75 mph free fall. The roller coaster features two Immelmann loops, a splashdown, two vertical drops and is the first of its kind to use floorless trains.
