^ Exactly. With the Festhaus Park Amphitheater, a new coaster, a new drop tower, DarKastle, and the largest air conditioned building in the park (Das Festhaus), Oktoberfest is going to be a nightmare come 2012. I'm sure the park knows that just as well as we do.

It wasn't ever really "inside" information, it was just another one of those rumors that didn't have any evidence to back it up at the time.

I'll be sure to ask some of the train engineers when I go in the next few weeks. I always thought a station by Oktoberfest (maybe right behind Festhaus) was a bit overdue. But Swift is right, with the new coaster going in a spot with not many other things to limit traffic it's going to be a nightmare on peak days. Let's hope that it doesn't turn out like Kingda Ka @ Great Adventure back in '05. The line on the ride extended all the way back beyond the tiger exhibits and peaked at 6 hours long.

Neither of the people ever said other than "in Oktoberfest", but I'm assuming it'd be near the Black Forest picnic area seeing that they're developing Festhaus Park into a dedicated concert area.

I just can't think of a good spot back there that can work. If it's by the picnic area then the seclusion back there will be gone. The added traffic will worse too for that area.

I'm pretty sure that they've shown in the past that they don't have a problem taking away the peacefulness of an area (I'm looking at you Griffon). What if it was only used on busy days or when there's a concert going on?

I personally think that would just cause confusion with the GP.

Am I the only one who thinks a dedicated concert area in festhaus park is a bad idea? Alot of land back there that besides HOS only gets used a few times a year.

I think it is horrendous but if they can keep booking these tweeny boppers like last weekend then I could be number booster.

I absolutely HATE the idea of it. It's a waste of space. That spot was made for a coaster and a coaster needs to be built there! Or at least a few flats. That spot would have never been cleared if DrachenFire was never built

I honestly think it's great to have an event space in the park that can host many different things. There's Ramp Jam, the concerts, HOS. Who knows what other events will show up back there in the years to come. It's perfect because no matter what you have back there it doesn't disturb the rest of the park.

What I don't understand is why people think that area would be a great spot for a permanent expansion. It's completely off the beaten path and in many ways is detached from the rest of the park. There is a reason why the park hasn't built anything back there since DF. They know it would be a horrible idea.

I like the idea...no way they build another coaster (or any ride) in Germany for a while...

Gotta' spread the people out.

I also like the concerts on the grass.

I just hope they theme the entrance to be a little Oktoberfesty, or atleast festive in some way. Not some fancy, steel superstructure with no character. The area needs to be versatile, yet not out of place.

I can possibly pour more fuel in the fire when I go there in the next few days. I'm always chatting it up with the train engineers and I could possibly find out a few things about what is in store.

I always thought the grade was the problem for not having a station there, but if there ever was going to be a station it seems like festhaus park would be the best place for it.
