This thread has been stuck. Why? Amusementpics posted evidence of my rumor.I love it when my sources are right. Thanks guys! (You know who you are)

The AmusementPics photographers tried to get a shot of that stake on the opening day of Illuminights (June 27th), but it was late in the day and the low light (combined with the movement of the train) rendered the photo unreadable...

That stake could just be the marker for the stop & start tests to see if it's even feasible...

Talking with the engineers later today. If there's any truth to this, which the amusement pics photo is good evidence for, they should know most of the stuff about it. Also, the ride ops aren't really in the know about Mach Tower annd other rides.

The engineers just operate the locomotives. They don't really get into the future plans of what will be happening.

^^^ He's right, I went on the railroad tour( when it was offered :dodgy:) But there is a maintence department that inspects the train and track and does all of the machining for new parts...etc. The only thing the engineers do is run, fill up, and polish the locomotive.

I asked around a bit and the engineers and even a maintenance employee said that a fourth station is nothing mroe than a rumor right now... Then and again some of the employees think Cheetah Hunt and Verbolten are both made by Intamin. No sign of any work on the tracks or the area near Festhaus and I'm not sure if they had markers down earlier in the year or not but there are signs of those either.

They wouldn't know.

I kind of figured that. They only know that the company making Mach Tower is Italian and they're completely clueless about Verbolten. I'll try and get pics of the two steaks tomorrow if I see them. I am not using the greatest camera so don't expect it to be good.

Seriously though, anyone know EXACTLY where these stakes are?

This. Could someone describe exactly where they are located? A picture would be even better...

Pending how bad the rain is I can possibly get pictures. I could also provide a video if I do find the steaks.

Update: can't upload pictures yet, but the first steak has orange striping and a little cloth on it on the right. It is almost in line with the end of the construction fencing.

those stakes were up for the testing... for when the start to slow down and start back up again...this happened a few weeks prior...no word on the outcome of the tests...

On Friday (8-19-2011) evening, I was able to get a photo of the stakes. As you can see in the attached photo at my crudely drawn arrows, are the two stakes. Th first take is very near to some nice bushes. The far stake is right next to the access road to the boneyard.

 Everyone's interest in a train station (Bahnhof) is amazing. How many would support a German-style railstation/model train and hobby store, with an outdoor garden railway attraction around it??
