Need pictures of beer flights.

I promise you I will get you the one from the German Beer Flight #1.....Franziskaner Hefeweisse is absolutely my favorite beer of all time.

I tried the Venera con Hamon in Spain (Italy) - scallop in ham w/ jasmine rice - it was great!
I also had the Schnitzelwich (pork slider) - also great!
And the Belgian Beer Pairing Sampler (chocolate, hazelnuts & edam cheese) - ok - I could take it or leave it.

Also had some great beers: Full Nelson, Devil's Backbone & O'Connor Black PA.

All in all I'm ECSTATIC that there are more food & beer (and to a lesser extent, wine) options around the park to choose from. Everything I've tried, food wise, is AT LEAST as good as what we're accustomed to, which was pretty good to begin with. And there are some GREAT beers to choose from now!

Summary: I LOVE THE FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL! At the very least I hope they bring it back every year. But what I'm really hoping for is that they just make it part of the park, throughout the season.

Here are some pics:

BTW, those greedy b@$t@rd$ raised the price of a cannoli by 50%!!!!
Now before certain people chime in saying it's only a dollar (PR), this increase is setting a bad precedent. 50% is outrageous!! I liked these things and they are no longer a good deal. :(

I'll be heading up there tomorrow from NC. I got my annual pass last night and I'm looking forward to this Food Beer & Wine Fest! :)

I'll be writing up more tomorrow. I do want to say that while I love the event, I'm not sure it will be very successful. I'll explain why later.

I really liked the event, I'm just afraid that it will be a bit too high-brow for people. These food festivals are not about getting full meals, the experience is about sampling various tastes. I'm not sure just how many people who go to a theme park will understand that though, which is why I'm not sure how much of a success it will end up being despite the great food. Seeing the thousands of unsupervised kids there, I didn't see a single kid go into those booths and I fear this might be the same for most of the GP at the park.

I think one thing the park should do is have a "combo option" for each booth. Sell each food item at the booth together at a slightly discounted price. Let's say item A is $5, Item B is $7, Item C is $3, sell them all at $13 to create the feeling that the guest is getting a more substantial value and a meal.

I would also love it if the park had some of these dishes in full meal servings as well. Sure, you can get multiple orders, but that you're still at booths doing it, and some of the booths don't have seating close by. Maybe the could convert Festhaus Cafe or Bistro 205 to a restaurant (not full service) that features these items in meal portions.

^ This. I feel that having a "sampler platter" for each of the larger booths would be a much easier sell to the general theme park crowd. I'm not convinced most park-goers want to go from booth to booth and read menus all day. I have a feeling that most people want to sit down with an actual meal once or twice a day. With that said, I imagine part of the reasoning behind not doing so was to try to keep Food & Wine Festival food from eating into the culinary profits of the park's larger restaurants. In fact, I have to say, I'd be very interested to know if the event is doing so anyway...

This is actually a major problem for the Greek booth next to Pompeii. To sit down at a table you have to walk to The Tap Room in Heatherdowns, the deck behind Banbury Cross, or Il Teatro di San Marco. That's a very long way to carry food on a crowded day.

What do y'all think of these:

There are two flanking the Belgium booth counter. Upon close inspection they are kinda cheap looking. Aluminum foil, sheet metal or duct tape? Interesting nonetheless.
