Scotland:
- Scottish Egg
One of my F&WF favorites. Basically it is like a giant hush puppy stuffed with a boiled egg & sausage with some spicy mustard.
Greece:
- Halloumi
Grilled cheese with honey, sweet & crunchy stuff. Yummy!
- Baklava
Flaky, honey pastry. Sweet!!
Spain:
- Venera con Jamón
Stepped out of my comfort zone with this as I am not much of a seafood lover. Was pleasantly surprised with this ham-wrapped scallop and rice dish. Pricy.
Germany:
- Schnitzelwich
I was told this was the number one seller for the F&WF last year. I enjoyed it thoroughly and it was one of the few things that satisfied my hunger by itself. It reminds me of a chicken filet sandwich except with pork.
- Currywurst
Another F&WF favorite from last year. Juicy, cut-up hot dogs with french fries. Mmmmmm...
France:
- Steak au Poivre
Delicious & juicy, peppery steak bites in a little gravy. Really good, but pricy for amount.
Canada:
*This booth is probably my favorite by way of me liking everything on the menu.
- Cheddar & Lager Chowder
Loved it last year; this year is no different.
- Macaroni & Cheese with Peameal Bacon
A new offering this year. It's basically macaroni & cheese with bacon...Awesome!!
- Pumpkin Caramel Mousse
One of my favorite dessert items at the F&WF. Pumpkin pudding with a caramel topping.
Scandinavia:
- Smørrebrød
Another risk for me. I don't like horse radish, pickles or red onions. I do however like roast beef and rye bread. It was OK I guess, but I didn't eat all of it and it was pricy.
- Krumkake
Another yummy dessert. It's a little waffle cone filled with cream and a berry topping.
American Southwest:
- Sonoran Spice Pork
Delicious pork and peppers; don't like slaw in general and this was no different, but I took another risk.
- Chocolate Lava Cake
Very tasty chocolate cake; not so much "lava-y" as I had hoped. Still a decent deal though.
Belgium:
- Wafel met Waterzooi
The Belgian version of a chicken pot pie. It had me at WAFFLES & CHICKEN. One of my new favorites!
- Huis van Lum Chocolate Wafel
A new dessert and another risk 'cause I don't like raspberries. The chocolate brownie waffle was crispy and delicious. I managed to choke down the raspberry topping, but that's a personal problem. Not sure if I would get this again. I do love waffles!
Italy:
*This is the place to be if you want a lot of delicious desserts!!
- Panna Cotta
A vanilla pudding shaped like a big, upside-down Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, and a sliced strawberry.
- Tiramisu
A yummy, coffee-flavored pudding.
- Cannoli
A crispy, creme-filled pastry (though sometimes too crispy)
More to come...stay tuned!!
