I would get enough vouchers to cover only a fraction of your dishes. Because the average price for a dish, with a meal voucher is $4.20, and you cannot get a pass discount on it. There are some dishes that are over that price, and the voucher will save you money. However, the majority of all the dishes are $3-$4, so in that case it will be cheaper just to use your pass. Plan to get some for the higher priced items, the rest is cheaper to pay with your pass, though.

It appears that it's no longer available. I bought one last weekend and there was an 'extras' tab in the drop down menu on the F&W page. It seems the 'extras' tab has vanished. If it is still available, then it is well hidden.

Yeah, either they've stopped selling them or it's really hidden. I remember seeing them a few days ago but I suddenly can't find them.

You are correct. I just checked and they are no longer there. I wonder why they pulled them off. I ordered 6 trios for my family. We could have done four and been fine. We ended up having one at the end of Sunday night that was hard to use because some of the places were out of the items we wanted to try. Since my wife is a vegetarian, she was able to get most of her stuff purchasing at the booth with AP discount. There were some expensive items that I would not have purchased had it not been for the voucher. The main one was the cheese plate in italy. That item alone was $12. It did seem like there were a lot more items in the $4 and below price range.

Still wish they would extend the food and wine festival. I really like their food options better than what the park has on a regular basis. Or, if they are not going to extend it, maybe ask for park visitors to vote on food items that they would like to see offered year round at the park. Then, the park can pick a couple of items that receive high votes to carry year round.

I should have purchased them a few weeks ago. They didn't even say they were a limited time offer or anything like that.

They weren't supposed to be limited offer. It was an actual legit product that they discontinued after the first weekend (except as part of a package for Kingsmill guests). I can only assume that the trio option lost them a lot more money than they expected or maybe it did unexpectedly terrible. We will never know the true meaning behind the reason for being discontinued; however, we do know because of the lack of a limited time offer notice, that it must have originally planned to be a more permanent option but something changed that.

It should be worth mentioning that the trio was only available for purchase online. Guest Relations and the Welcome Center could not sell them because the option was never in their computer from the start. They did talk about allowing people to buy it at the park; however, as we see it was discontinued. That said, maybe too many guests were frustrated that they were not able to buy it at the park?

Apologies if this has already been shared. It is a blog post by Mary the BGW culinary manager. She lists her top ten food choices. My mouth is watering!

About the Trio Deal...

I did have an opportunity to take advantage of the Trio Deal last weekend thanks to a friend, and it was well worth it.  This deal had the potential to save you quite a bit of money or be a complete bust if you don't pay attention to prices.  As this was an online-only offering, I suppose you take it at face value that it will be worth purchasing (keeping in mind that prices for F&WF items are not listed).  Food prices were generally 3, 4, 5, 6, 7...and $12 (don't forget the Cheese Sampler over in Italy).  The Trio Deal was $12 and good for three separate food item purchases.  If you pay attention to the prices (also depending on your type of pass discount) and do the math, a wise customer would generally only use this on items costing $5 and up and hopefully seek out the most expensive offerings for maximum value.

Now when I asked at the Guest Relations building why the Trio Deal was not available anymore online, the first answer I got was that "too many people couldn't find it online so it was removed."  I'm not one to take things at face value or accept what is clearly BS, so of course I politely asked to speak to a supervisor.  After waiting a few minutes, I was able to discuss this with a GR supervisor, and he initially didn't have an answer either.  We did agree on my take as to why it may have disappeared though; which was that somebody realized that this was too great of a deal and would save those who use it for maximum value a LOT of money (meaning that BG loses a lot).  After the question was escalated again through another level of management, the official statement was that the deal had been discontinued but without a reason why or giving any kind of notification. Though...

I thanked the supervisors for taking the time to talk with me and answering my question.  I think it is clear why this is not being offered anymore. ;)

I came across the chocolate wolf statue yesterday on my visit to the park. I can't wait to see it when it's completed.
I loved the addition of the actor/actress and music at each booth. Each one fit in well with the particular country that was represented. The food choices were great. I was only to sample four food items though.

Canada - Mac & Cheese with Peameal Bacon
Greece - Salata
Cartbbean - Gamba Fritters
American Southwest - Chocolate Lava Cake

All were really good except for the fitters imo. They just weren't good to me although the accompanying pineapple dip was pretty tasty.
